I think Jordan Spieth was assessed a shot for slow play on the European Tour a year or 2 ago. It was in the middle east somewhere. Not before time either. I'm sure he was at least warned if he didn't get penalised.

They were a hole behind for most of the round and after he hit a drive John Parramour told him he’s penalised.

Thanks Bushy. I couldn't remember the details but I do remember he was taking forever to read his putts. Him and Grellar were taking minutes to discuss three and four foot putts that day. It was crazy.

I’ll say..... it’s all because of technology.

If the ball didn’t fly as far as it did the greens wouldn’t have to be as fast or the rough as deep.

Case in point the 2015 Open Championship. How the f**k does the Old Course get a wind delay???

I thought Noren was pretty slow on the greens, especially hate that habit of addressing the ball then removing the marker and looking again.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the "Furyk" either.

Didn't JT take us on a roller coaster ride today?

6 straight birds to start the round, a mixed bag through the middle, a triple on 15, a 4-putt double on 16, then another bird on 17 to shoot even for the day.

    That ain't boring!

The most extraordinary thing about this event is the crowd numbers. 216k today!

I realise there are a few other factors apart from the golf that draws them in, and quite a few of them don't actually watch the golf for the most part. But the crowd control and crowd management must be top class. Where do they all park?

I've been to a few Aussie Opens with crowds of estimated 20 or 30k, and the courses seem quite crowded. It becomes difficult to see the play. But I can't even imagine what being in the Phoenix crowd is like. I guess they just pick a spot and stay there all day (and drink to excess).

    Default 2018 PGA Tour

It’s hard to fathom Jim. Lots of desert out there but.

Read today that the 16th had in excess of 45 minute wait to get into general admission.

It's not a golf tournament. It's the Superbowl with a small white ball. My least favourite event of the year.

Yep. I stand corrected. Really that’s ridiculous, good for the event but wow!! I’ve been to a couple of Open’s where there’s not even half that crowd and there were real restrictions as to where you could go to watch and heaven forbid you wanted to follow a player. In 2014 I followed DJ and Rory for a grand total of half a hole because the crowds were too deep.

I like this event, especially since the redesign. 15-18 is a great stretch of closing holes. Regularly have guys birdie the closing holes. I sure didn’t expect these two to be playing off.

I can only assume this wasn't on the TV coverage, for surely someone wouldn't have been able to resist.

Don't read the comments. They demonstrate why US golf fans are such pains, and why twitter should be ignored most of the time.

Personally I don't understand the passion about Poults. But I'm not an American who takes the Ryder Cup way too seriously.

He’s partial to the odd shank. Both he and Henrik are equally as good at it.

In saying that, I like Poults. He gets a bad run from the yanks but he definitely gives as good as he gets. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Hard not to like the bloke. I can’t imagine he’d care what some moron Seppos think.

I’ll forgive the wanky cars and any of his other nonsense because seeing him fire up at Ryder Cup time is magnificent. Watching replays of Medinah still gives me a semi.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

This is part of why I like him. Doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Always look forward to the swing analysis of Bill Murray on the KonicaMinoltaBizHubSwingVisionCamera. AND the shitty surf, can't forget the surf.
