That covers 9 holes are we to assume the other 9 were pretty fugly. 21 putts is good for 18 holes but pretty ordinary for 9

    32 today.
2 wipes, 4 putts where the ball ended half a foot or less directly behind the hole.

Black Marker on Friday, had 93/73. Round showed some signs of being good, but had a nasty 4 hole meltdown going trip dub dub trip from 6-9 before getting it back ok on the back 9.

Monthly Medal today, had 85/65 for a second in C grade. Lipped 4 putts and left another 2 short but dead in the center. Really a what could have been round. 30 putts but only 4 greens. Happy to finally play a half decent round.

Played our monthly mug today... Played OK for the first 8 holes at the back 9..... Teed off on the 18th hole with a slight draw next to the tree along the fairway... Should be fine... Nope... Can't find it.... Stroke play... Have to run back, teed off, run back while the flight behind was waiting...

Lost all tempo... Hit an 9 plus 2 strokes...

Lost plot after.... Finished off 98/82 for the day.... *sigh*

Not a good start to the year

Monthly Medal this morning. The course copped 100mm+ of rain overnight so preferred lies & bunkers GUR, as well as there being very little run.

I started with a soft bogey on 10, then went on a run of 9 straight pars (missed a tiddler on 18 which would have been birdie & even par for the 9). Another string of pars was undone by a sloppy double on the Index 1 4th. I finished on 77/71, but felt like I didn't putt very well.

Grumpy, we have a fair few board events outside the champs, this one is called the Golfers Cup, has been going over 100 years

JoeS, at most clubs there are honour boards dotted around the clubhouse/bar for things like club championships, foursomes, etc. There are also likely a number of fourball and individual events during the year where you also get your name on a board.

Well.... Played 21 on the first 9 and 15 on the back... A little better than yesterday.

Changed my M1 shaft from stiff to regular. Much better consistency with a slight fade instead of the duck hook yesterday.

I struggled through 7 holes in 32 degree warmth this afternoon. But it was a social round, so it didn't count.

I salute those in Sydney who thrived in the 45+ furnace yesterday. I saw one Ozgolfer's name in the results in the paper today. Even if he got home on the coattails of his partner, just playing 18 yesterday was an awesome effort.

If it was me, then 41 individual points wasn't too much coattail riding.

I would have won individual also, if I didn't call an early penalty on myself for stabbing the ground on a backhanded tap-in (that otherwise went unnoticed).

Hit off at 7am, but we logged onto BOM at the end of the round, to confirm that I did 'shoot the temperature'.

Is shooting the temperature a thing?

I might have to move to Hobart for the winter

That would work for par events.

But then you'd be stuck with winter, Hobart and par events every weekend.

Stableford at Beaconhills today , 31 pts off 8 hcp 15/16 driver was off, putting was ordinary ( 2x3 putts in first 5 holes ) , chipping was a bit better thanks to Chappy adjusting the lofts on my wedges , no birdies and not enough pars .
