Default What did you shoot: December 2017

Kicked off the month with monthly medal this morning.

80/69 (a pair of 40s each nine)...biggest blemishes were a 5 on 10 (double) and 7 on 13 (triple), the latter not helped by my tee shot nestling solidly at the base of a tree.

A couple of birdies, some decent chipping and some clutch putting offset the bad stuff just enough.

77 off the plates (40 / 37) I'll take that every day of the week! Great birdie on 18 hitting driver 326 and 4 iron to 15 feet. Could have made a few more putts but hell, i;ll take it.

Couple of games I haven't added.

Sunday 26th (yes Jim, I know this is the December thread) Mens Foursomes Champs. 86/74.5 & 91/79.5.
Partner and I both had our issues. He couldn't do anything on the first 18 & then the roles reversed on the second round.
Worst part was being de-masculanized all day by being out driven constantly by 10 year olds and them letting you know about it, cheeky buggers. Anyway they are great kids and good luck to them.

Saturday 2nd. MM stroke. 86/72. Doubled the last three holes, what could have been round.

Sunday 3rd. MM Stroke. 99 not out/ 85. Only goal for the day was not to raise the bat. Everything went wrong.

35 pts at Beaconhills today off a 9 cap driver was ok cept for the 12 th , was a struggle until the 14 th , then back to back birdies and three pars on 16 ,17 and 18 so ended up with a respectable score

Wangled a Wednesday comp off. Started ok, made a shocker of a double on 5, then it just clicked.
18 points round the front, and even around the back for 40 points.
This will drop me to my lowest ever mark.... Woo hoo. Back down to 6 at the home course, and a GA of around 5.1

    Well done WB.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Played magenta today. Been hitting it well.

Birdies on 1 and 2 got me off to a good start. Bogey on 3. Pared the rest for the front 9 to be -1.

Lipped out for birdie on 10, bogeyed 11. Birdie on 13 but 3 putted for bogey on 14.

Good par on 15 then OB left on 16 to make double. +2 going down 17, hit PW to 6ft and drained it.

Driver down the left on 18, 3 wood knuckle ball flyer 280m down to greenside area. Pitched up and over the large bunker, didn't see it but it checked and rolled out like tigers pitch on 16 and dropped for eagle.

First time shooting under par at Magenta in comp. -1 71!

40 points. Hopefully it holds up!

Was +5 after 5 holes but managed a good fight back to finish +4 (76) for the day.

    34 points.

Should be enough to get me into 1.9 I hope.

37 points , 74 gross this afternoon on recently renovated greens.
Was 3 over after 4 but then held it together to only drop 1 more so pretty happy with that.
Hopefully the rating will be high as there were only 3 scores over 40 for the day, so maybe will get the cap back down to 4.
