Worked on the hook.... A couple of drive was under control but I kept forgetting to practice swing before shot so still hook.

Mid to long irons are just confused with straight shots and hooks appearing randomly... So need more practice to get my swing corrected.

Finished with a mediocre 29 points off 16 handicap

Last round for the year at Cairns GC this morning with Bushy.

Pretty scratchy on the first 9 for 16pts but only got worse on the second for 12pts for a total of 28.

Booked in for the 1st of Jan so looking forward to improving on that forgettable effort!

Tale of two halves and really sums up my game at the moment.

Opened up with two solid holes through 10 and 11 for 4 points. Then came the 12th... topped my tee shot 50m then topped the next 3 shots leading to a double. Basically dropped my bundle through the next 6 holes with 4 lost balls, half a dozen helicopters and a total of 8 points through 9.

    “One pint of Kirin please”

The front 9 was a polar opposite. Up and down for par on the 1st, 2 putt par on the 2nd, 1 putt pars on 3, 4 and 5, birdie 6, par 7, 3putt bogey on 8 and saved a par on 9 after bouncing into the hazard on the left.

Out in 50 for 8 points with 22 putts, 0 fairways and 2 greens.
Home in 35 for 22 points with 12 putts, 4 fairways and 3 greens.

41pts off 8 today at Burleigh. Good enough for the win in A Grade and the best I've had for ages. 3 birdies in there too.

Wrapped up the year @ Windsor with a mate and a couple of his mates that he was keen to catch up with.

Tale of 2 halves, albeit one where beer didn't help. 20 points on the front with some good scrambling efforts and a couple of tee shots that found tree trouble (although not as disastrous as the OP).

Then I downed an Extra Dry at the turn and fumbled my way around for 13 points on the back (wiped the last and played quintessential bogey golf every other hole).

Nothing planned for tomorrow, but will be heading out on New Year's Day for the traditional 9 holes with my dad (and my brother, who reckons he'll be sober enough to join us).

Finish off the year with 35 points. Birdied on the last hole is good way to end 2017.

Happy with the finish from 24 GA hdcp when I started in June and finish off at 13.9

    More to come in 2018.

Had my best round ever at my home club on Sunday, 2 under for 40 points, missed a 2 footer on the last as well after having a 10 footer for birdie.
