Played in a district medal of the medallist comp at Patterson River g c this morning, slope of 130 so off 12 , had 84/72 (36 pts ) which wasn’t bad considering I had never played the course and we played off the blue tees . Was 2 under my cap after 13 when we were told to hurry up cause we were going to slow . Then I went bogey, triple . One of my playing partners went 10 , 14. All they did was make us go slower cause everyone played worse . We were over a hole in front of the four behind us but we had lost touch with the group in front but they were a three , none of us had played the course and we still finished in 4 1/2 hrs . Very nearly told an official to F off and jam his comp up his clacker .

    26 points (13/13)
Didn’t play as bad as the score suggests. Hit some nice drives today but putting was a bit of a lottery on recently cored greens.

Ian Chappel was in trouble for abusing umpires in his playing days , just after a bad incident in a game Chappell’s team got another really bad decision in the next game and he was fuming , the umpire said “ now Ian don’t go saying anything or you will get suspended “ chappell responded with “ can I get into trouble for thinking things ? “ “ no Ian you can think what you like “ Chappell then said “ well I think you are a dead c...t “ and walked away

Ham & Turkey Ambrose yesterday Nett 56.75. Good enough for 12th.
Royal Adelaide Open Day today. Happy with the way I hit it most of the day. Got tired towards the end for 28 points.
No where near as bad as one of my fellow playing partners.

shot 33 points yesterday off 18 handicap... was playing bogey golf most of the way till I hit the bunkers... could not for the life of me hit a good bunker shots yesterday with fluffy top and wet bottom sand.... putting was good with 2 putts average except for 2 holes at 3 putts.

was pretty hot yesterday, but sure made the driver run further than normal

My first game since the golfing trauma of the SA Champs. The greens couldn't have been any different. Not just tifdwarf instead of bent, but two weeks after renovation bumpy as anything and running about 3 on the stimp. Naturally my 3 playing partners all had no problem with them and broke handicap.

But I couldn't do anything on the greens, so I'm not too unhappy with 30 points. I've been swinging poorly in practice, but today was a bit better. Not quite in love with the game again yet, but not hating it either.

Stableford at Beaconhills today , started with a 6/1 on the first ( 3 shots in a bunker) bogey on two ( 3 shots from just off the fringe ) so three over after 2 holes . Had my first 3 pointer on the 11th . Finished the day with 42 points (21/21) which was 39/36 off the stick (4 over) . No 3 pointers on the front nine but had two four point birdies , 8 pars one bogey on the back nine . Lost the win on count back . Down to 9.2 ga , cap is a yo-yo at the moment.

Inconsistent putting and long irons. But chipping was good. Ended day with 36 points off 18 handicaps

This might take some beating, 6 flags in a row, nothing below 39 points and today 45 points and horseshoed the last put from 2' out. "How good is golf'

    Nice work.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
