Did i hear Pat saying Jeff Thomson's sons swing about 155mph? Just after that he said Thommo still swings about 120.

Grady and Pat Welsh are useless. Enjoyed the tourney but the broadcast was complete rubbish.

Great job from Cameron Davis. Impressive final round.

The tourism mob are pretty much paying for the whole deal. They’re the ones that signed Spieth and I think Day.

I've changed the title of the thread to include the Australian PGA, as I don't think it is worth its own thread.

    Any Qld guys attending?

I might go on Saturday if the weather looks like it will hold up. I won't make a decision until the morning, though.

It should be good, both live and on TV.

I also note that while Adam Scott is a difficult guy to dislike, he is apparently going back to the broomstick, so I'm sure some of the usual suspects will watch just so they can accuse him of anchoring.

I was hoping to go out tomorrow or Friday but work has got in the way.
Tomorrow would be a great chance to dodge the crowds and see Adam Scott & Sergio Garcia, second group out at 6.10am

The sooner the Australian tour becomes a partner of the European tour with cosanctioned events and a 3 or 4 week swing the better.

Compare the Hong Kong field to the Aus Open. Hong Kong was significantly deeper.

How its funded though? Nope, got me there

I know they swap morning and arvo fields from day 1 to day 2 but do they also swap position in the field? i.e. will the last of the morning today lead off the arvo tomorrow?

The PGA is co-sanctioned, and the players still don't support it.

There are no genuine names from the Euro Tour playing, and the best guys are probably Samuel Detry and Robert Karlsson. If I was a Euro Tour player who wasn't sure of his future status I'd definitely be playing. It would be easier to get ranking points in this event and get a head start on the rivals than to stay home in the Euro cold.

The Mauritius Open is also playing in opposition, and starts tonight. It will be interesting to compare the fields.

In an ideal world we would have an Aussie Swing of 4 events, but funding is certainly the issue.

I guess the best we can do as fans is actually support the events by watching them on TV and keeping the ratings healthy.
