ABC news was just saying that it's expected that the local tests will stay on FTA as required by broadcast laws, but expect much of the rest to only be on Foxtel.

10 are the big losers in this. They now have no summer sport at all unless they decide to do wall to wall coverage of something like motor racing or horse racing. They did quite a good job with the Big Bash.

Now I won't see the promos for I'm A Celebrity. What a shame.

The commentary situation will be quite interesting. I'm assuming most of the Nine guys aren't required by 7, and Fox will use its own Inside Cricket people, with Brendon Julian, Allan Border etc. One scary thought on that front. Darren Lehmann is available. One good thought. Fox are most likely to use their eye candy female sports presenters, even if they don't know much about cricket.

As for 7, Mel McLoughlin will be a big plus, most of their meathead AFL guys a big minus, and I'm really hoping Pat Welsh doesn't get a start. If Seven have any sense, they'll just keep the Big Bash guys, except for Andrew Symonds and any of the overseas guests. I didn't think any of them added anything of value.

I'd guess 7 will probably use guys with a bit of experience, like Mike Hussey and Matt Hayden. Warnie will get a gig somewhere, even though he is a Nine guy.

The one guy I'm hoping Seven can get out of semi-retirement is the great Dennis Cometti.

As a Fox customer I don’t really mind how it’s played out BUT the stories coming out about how Cricket Australia handled the negotiations leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. This article touches on most of the key parts but really paints Sutherland and his sidekick as real douches.

Somebody sent me that the other day - makes CA look more corrupt than the players. Knocking back a smaller but still massive offer that would have put cricket on free to air TV tells you where their priorities lie.

Fox sports can blow me. I'll just check the scores on cricinfo and read the fine analysis on this thread.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

The players held out for more cash, CA (which is a business) held out for more cash. Blow me down with a feather. People like more cash. Who knew. That CA apparently ended up getting less cash is quite funny.

I'm not sure it changes much, test cricket still on free to air, ODI's which no one apparently watches or cares about disappear.

    Some BBL disappears, oh no.

    Don't blush baby.

Justin Langer is coach. Everyone loves him, so all is good with cricket again.

I watched the press conference. Langer said all the right things. There is no reason to think he won't be a good coach and the right man for the job.

However, the journo's couldn't get past all the culture talk, so nobody asked him how he was going to improve our batting away from home.

It's a good appointment. Langer has great success behind him and seems to have no issues being well supported by the players he's involved with. His temperament and values as a player will fit in well with where everyone wants us to go i think.

Bad call imo, has achieved very little success (aside from BBL and that means nothing in this role IMO), is a flog and embodies most of the things people think are wrong with our attitude towards the game.

    Should have been Dizzy.

    Does Cricket Australia like Dizzy?

Scores 200 not out and never gets selected again.
