And he is there as he was the reserve seamer on the tour. Starc is injured. You tend to play 4 bowlers in test matches.

Did he take 40 shield wickets last year?
Warner just gave nothing in his press conference.
That will just keep it rolling along, until it ends up in court. Pity, an apology similar to the others would have allowed it to end.
Disagree, 3. He sort of tried that, but the media didn't let him. And nor should they have done.
He had questions to answer, and he didn't answer them. It was similar to the Smith/Bancroft conference. Offering half an explanation, leaving out many of the vital details, is worse than saying nothing at all.
Either Warner has been badly advised, and then didn't know how to think on his feet when he got a question he wasn't prepared for, or his version of events is not the same as what has been told so far.
If he is keeping things back, what purpose could that serve? His reputation is dead, even if he appeals the severity of the sentence no tribunal can demand he be picked in a team (they can easily justify his omission on form, not to mention his inability to fit into the new team culture), so I don't understand why he would not come clean and admit everything.
The actual game in SA didn't turn out to be as bad as it looked when I went to bed at the tea break. Maybe Sayers has a bit more to offer than I thought, but only with the new ball. Or maybe I'm just wrong. With Starc out for a while, an opportunity awaits for somebody.

Nice to see he and the missus had Sydney’s pain in the ass Roxy Jacenko there handy....

"I take full responsibility for my part". Tell us what your part was, Davey.
He could have put it all to bed if he'd just said, "Yep, I hatched the plan with Cam to do it and Steve knew. No one else".
The fact Dave refused to say so means there are more players involved. No other conclusion really.
Just up to people to work out who is in the famed "Leadership Group". Either that, or everyone knew.

While I understand why focus is not really on the field at the moment, there was some very enjoyable cricket played last night.
Lyon was turning it square, and Elgar hasn't shown an ability to play him anyway, so it was a terrific battle between the two last night. Lyon must have beaten Elgar 20 times outside off, but couldn't get him out. Some criticism could be levelled for Lyon not bowling at the stumps a bit more, or using his straight one, but he had every reason to expect Elgar to edge one eventually. But he didn't, and Elgar stuck it out. Khawaja would've charged down the pitch, or played a reverse sweep, or done something to get out.
Not everybody enjoys such subtleties about test cricket, but I loved it.

Fortunately everyone seems to have largely moved on with their lives, but this is an interesting read. M

Yep. Saw that article. It asks some interesting questions.
Fortunately (or unfortunately for some) in the age of everyone having phones that record video, the ball tamperers are on very thin ice. The furore over this matter will surely cause many amateur journos in the crowd to be giving the players with the ball very close scrutiny. I don't know what the authorities would do if presented with video evidence from phones in the crowd.
Anyway, that may not be of interest to any of our opponents for a while. Our batting is so appalling that Bangla Desh must really fancy themselves to knock us over. Regrettably, the Marsh brothers will probably have to survive until next summer, because you simply cannot replace an entire batting lineup, despite how tempting it is.

Just heard this morning that the Goss is that ch7 has signed a deal with Fox and will be taking over much of the FTA cricket coverage from 9, and the big bash from 10.

Got em, yes! Piss off, Channel 9, you're out!
Channel 9 just took over the tennis rights, so it's not surprising that the cricket is moving.
