I think 20/20 has taught them to go for it and go hard for all of the overs ,the poms are certainly doing that . The worst thing for me in 50/50 was the fast start consolidating in middle then go hard at the end it made the game seem boring. If teams start scoring 350 each or more it will make it much more interesting, except for the bowlers . The game has progressed , I can remember everyone getting excited when Simon O’Donnell hit a six to get Aus over 200 and a win

They are in between a rock and a hard place there. They want him to captain the team going forward
(new culture etc etc) until a suitable replacement arises but realistically there are probably stronger ODI players vying for his spot. He's keeping superbly but there are probably better bats that can keep, notably Alex Carey.

Setting aside his relative inexperience, from a character perspective Alex Carey would be an excellent candidate for captaincy. Check out any of the times he's been interviewed.

He's mature for sure. It might be a bit much to thrust on him too soon tho. He needs some games under his belt i reckon. Finch might be ok if need be.

Nice effort by the Poms in flogging India in no time at all after substantial lost time. Anderson and Woakes sensational. Interesting Ashes tour in 12 months time.

It will be quite interesting following Rishabh Pant's career from here on in. Extremely promising young buck for India.

If you like the looks of Rishabh then you should look up his brothers Poohma and Pishma. Lots of first time travelers to India come home talking about Poohma in particular.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

After floggings each way in the first two test the third is nicely poised between the Poms and India. Good series so far.

Has been a very watchable series.
Both bat and ball have had a chance.
And played in a pretty decent spirit too. Very tough but no (or minimal) histrionics.

Absolutely. They are up and down enough to give us a leeway of hope for the upcoming Ashes but they'll be favored for sure i reckon. .

    England will.

    159 consecutive tests. That's extraordinary.

Border managed 153, next is daylight.

Unreal effort. He's scored runs in all conditions too. He totally dominated India in India many years back when the Poms rolled them over there. He dominated us here many years ago too at one stage tho he's been much better kept in check here since. Very good bat.

And yet the Indians may yet win this test. 4 top order batsmen contribute 1 run between them and they are still making a good stab at chasing down 464!

Still 120 short, but a good fight back from 2-3. Good job Kholi was already out.

Anderson overtakes McGrath as leading wicket taker among the fast men, and Rashid bowls a "Warnie".

Brilliant series, and closer than 4-1 suggests. Be good if Australia can do as has been rumoured and make their wickets a little less batsman friendly, similar to these.
And maybe use the Dukes instead of the Kookaburra (or make a kookaburra like a Dukes).
Innings scores of 200 - 400 make for great cricket matches. 500+ first innings are boring as bat-sh!te.

I've been watching the Test from Dubai. I would understand if others have either switched off or fallen asleep, because it has been hard viewing.

Th pitch has been so dead it gives cricket a bad name, and with no crowd there is zero atmosphere.

My fear is that the pitch will start to turn after the wear and tear of two days batting, and we will get rolled twice, making us look worse than we really are.

I hope Labuschagne can bat. His leggies aren't too bad, and probably good enough to justify all-rounder status batting at six, if his batting can justify his position.
"There are 50 things to remember in the golf swing. Trouble is that I can only remember 49 of them" - Bob Hope.
