Single stab at Beaconhills today , was a round of two halves
Par 36 front 9 for 24 pts then bout 45 on the back for 12 pts . Did almost everything right first nine including only having 10 putts . Then did everything wrong including two three putts, an oob , a topped drive , bladed chips , 19 putts on the back half didn't lose a ball or throw a club tho .

Played 8 holes in the Par comp today before it was cancelled due to extreme heat. Was at +3. Spew.

Just curious what temp constitutes extreme heat and who’s decision is it to cancel?

Our club considers 36 degrees and over as extreme weather. It was 37.4 when we got told the comp was done. You can still play out the holes but the comp is cancelled.
I think whoever is working the Pro Shop and see's the weather machine go over 36 degrees is who makes the call.

We used to have a heat policy of over 36 deg. ,forecast the night prior, the comp would be cancelled but could still go out and play if wanted.

This got changed last year due to a lot of complaints. Comp is now on all the time and if you don't want to play in the heat, so be it.

Gee. We wouldn’t be able to run a comp through the whole of summer if that was the case.

The club references Golf Australia Guidelines for their heat policy. http://www.golf.org.au/site/_content...997-source.pdf
I would have thought a lot of clubs would have something like this in place, especially with how ramped up OH&S is these days.

Feel your pain. opposite for me.

Front 9 i had 13 points and just couldn't get anything going.

Back 9 i was -3 after 4 holes, only to double 16 and finish for -1 (20 points).

33 points ok but -3 on the back for 35 would have been the best come back round so far.

Comp at Beaconhills today , 34 pts 17 both sides . Hosted joe s , so as there is a witness I have own up to having a wipe on the short par 3 6 th , no big deal , except I had measured it at 1.76 mts for the ntp . Only one snap hook couple 3 putts nothing else of note . Joe S went ok .

Thanks Grumpy for hosting me today at Beaconhills.Had a reasonable game but with some poor errors.Had a 33 with 2 wipes.Started with a bit of a hangover and by the time the last 3 holes came around I was really struggling in the heat.

Yeah it got pretty warm at the end might be why we both wiped the 18 th
