Default What did you shoot? November 2017

Will my 34 points today be the best score recorded by an Ozgolfer this month? I doubt it, but when you get to open the thread you get to be clubhouse leader for 5 minutes at least.

I played quite well today but couldn't make anything happen. Some missed short putts didn't help. But I holed a 40 footer for birdie at the last, so all is forgiven.

The first score is still clubhouse leader.

31 points for me today. I played worse than that from tee to green, but my short game was good. Surprisingly, I was 3 of 4 in sand saves, after being unable to keep the blade away from the ball two rounds ago. So that's a positive.

By far the highlight was the first ever hole in one by a playing partner. I've had a grand total of one, but until today nobody else in my group had ever recorded one while I was playing with them. Slightly more satisfying was that it was a thinned 5 iron, so we were able to remind him of the flukiness of the shot for the rest of the round. Just as good was his scoring pattern. 8 points after 8 holes, then 1 a 5 for a 13 point outward nine.

Monthly Medal this morning. I wasn't feeling it at the start of the round, chunking my way to a double on the first (10th). A triple on 14 and a few other bogies and I was in arrears in the handicap stakes. Luckily I turned it around and played the last 12 holes in -2 to finish on par (78/72).

    94/80 in the MM today.
Brought out the Mini Driver for a go today but my swing is terrible.

Just got back from a lesson and have a blister. Grip is a lot stronger and shoulders square now so will see how this goes.

My clubs open tournament which is 36 holes is on this weekend, shot 1 over 72 the first round so off to a pretty good start, not sure how everyone one else went.

    Started bogey double double. Cooked.
Then birdied 4, parred 5 6 7 then 3 jagged 8 from 15 foot after an aggressive first putt.

Shot 38 round the back for 79/72, for 4th. Again.

Won a NTP at 623cm which paid more in the prizes.

If dsr was 73, lowest ever. Instead 72 and down to 5.3

Trying new grip and squaring everything up.
Feels shocking so DQ'd today after chicken winging my way around the front nine for 54.
Was heading the same way for the back nine before picking up.
Golf is ridiculous at the moment and can't hit any club past 160 m.

I've already claimed the SA Champs NAGA Trophy.

Played ordinary the second round and shot 78 and still ended up winning by 3 shots, was only 8 rounds in the whole field in 70's over the 2 days. Pins were in difficult spots and the greens were alot faster than they usually are.

Played at Windsor this morning in their Foundation Cup stroke event.

It was meh. 92/81 (49/43, I think). A couple of shanks, a few bad breaks with tree roots and what not, and an ever increasing heap of indifference as I went around.

    14/16 for 30 pts.

Highlight was spinning a wedge back 4 feet from 110m for an eagle and 5 pts, also sunk a long birdie putt for 4 pts so take those out and the rest was a bit ho hum.

Solid 36pts today, but should have been a few better. A couple of soft bogies in the closing holes were a bit frustrating, but to be expected on cored & sanded greens.

    Big 26 points today. 17/9

After doing my back this week and spending most of it at the physio, honestly didn't expect much. And I delivered.
Lost probably about 6 points, pulling or pushing the putter from 2 feet.

35 points today. Not celebrating a comeback to form too early though.
    Chipped in on the Par 3 6th for a 2 for 4.

First time over 30 points for about 2 months. Had at least 4 lip outs and 1 stupid 4 putt.
Off to confess in another thread.
