    Default Hilarious format ****ups..

Anyone ever hit the ball off the green after you used all your stableford points up, then to be told it's actually a stroke event?

    May as well stay here...

Anyone else hit a scary provisional with a very real chance of being 15 before stepping off the second tee blocks??

Anyone had a straight forward 12 foot putt, only to have it hit the hole and hit a ball 4 foot and 45 degrees away from the cup?

Anyone leant on an uphill putt only to have it sail past the pin and only for recent rain and the lush grass that followed, not put it out of bounds?

Yoss did the same with a wedge not too long ago.

Sent it a good 100m+ away from memory.

I’ve got too cute on a putt with the hole just on the other side of a ridge, not made it over the ridge and had my ball end up in a water hazard.

I've picked up on the first, thinking it was stroke. I effectively DQ'd myself, and didn't consider at the time that I could replace my ball with a penalty.

???I wish I picked up, would've saved three more shots

Declaring it unplayable and placing it back where you hit it from may have been an option for the cost of a couple of shots.

I played a stroke comp a few years ago for the first time in ages. I'd been sneaking out on my own after work and playing a few holes in preparation for a few weeks in the lead up so that I didn't embarrass myself. I was last to putt out on the first and missed a 3 footer and proceeded to tap it back to myself and have another go as I had been doing in practice. The rest of the group just stood there thinking what the **** is he doing?

Par 3, dumped tee shot into greenside bunker. Two failed attempts, red mist descends and I dismiss the ball with a full lob wedge about 80m away over onto another fairway.

Playing partners lol and then I realise it is stroke.

Was a pretty good 7 to be fair.

Last year, I played mixed foursomes for the first time in 32 years.

32 years was not nearly long enough.

ps. Doubly so, re. whinging by associates at having to play a provisional off the blue tees.

Warragul club champs couple years ago drove into green side bunker of a 260 mtr par 4 , fourth attempt to get out flew the green by about 80 mts , played my next shot from near the 1st green back to the 6 th green , might have been a bit of red mist involved , think I had a nine .

Playing the par 5 ninth at emerald, missed my very short bogey putt for a one pointer ( so I thought ) missed a few backhanded and one handed attempts at holing it , knocked it off the green over towards tenth tee . It was at this point that playing partners said " you do realise this is a stroke comp ", best we could work out was I had had a 16 . Finished the comp 11 over my cap .

You guys are great, thanks so much for your Playboy-esque editorials.

You've been like a band aid that doesn't rip your hair off at removal.

But wait there is more , par 4 5th at emerald , bout five years ago second card for my handicap , thought I had hooked my ball oob , hit 3 provisionals into same area or further in before I gave up , went down there and found the first ball was in bounds , just , lost the 3 provisionals.
Same hole couple years later , knocked a ball oob put provisional down the middle , next shot oob , ended up sinking a ten footer for a nine

Last year's club champs in the 3rd round I had a 10 (par 4) and a 7 (par 3) in my 82. Ended up runner up by 3 shots. In the following year, 5 is my worst score on each of them
