What's urs?
I've been setting mine at 46* in the last few years but considering using a 48* to drop the gap wedge and get better spacing at the top of the bag.
Anyone done this?

It depends on the iron set I am using. Standard set PW lofts range from 47* down to 43.5* (M1). I have a Yururi 49* I usually carry to fill the gap to my GW (53*), but there are also some 48*s (mainly Clevelands) I will throw in sometimes. I am on the lookout for a 46/47 specialist wedge, but they are rare.
Coincidentally, experimenting with a 47* Ping Zing 2 today to close the gap to the 52* Glide.
Usually use a 45* Mizuno MX100, which gapped well with an old 52* Callaway X-Forged.
Part 2 may be to reshaft the 52* Glide. Or just hit it harder.
ps. If I want to add 10m to my game, then any Cobra 45* PW.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.
I have a 45 pitching wedge, then a 52 gap.
I have about a 25 metre gap between the two of them, but I just grip down the PW to hit it approx 110-115.

Cool..
Ok after bit of a pep talk from Benno_r the experiment will happen today.
PW bent 2* weaker to 48 the 54 has been bent to 53 and the 50 had been removed from the bag. All other irons been bent 1* weaker.
My 714 AP2 pitching wedge is 46deg, but I've got the AP2 gap wedge as well, 50deg and is the perfect 100m club for me. One of my favourite clubs.
I have similar issues. My Ping S55 set is 4-9 so i use a 47* Ping Glide PW which is a perfect 130 yard club. But my Miura set is only 4-9 so i am experimenting with a 50* Miura 1957 wedge with a PW length shaft to close the gap between the 9 iron. Then i use 55 SW and 59 LW. The jury is still out with the Miura's.
I have mine set at 48. That way I can have a 48, 54, 60 for nice even 6 degree gaps. At 46 I feel like I need to go 52,56,60 and 4 wedges is too many for me.
Interesting, i have no idea what my loft is but judging by the ball flight it plays about 3*
Driver- Slazenger Bruce Devlin 1 1/2
Fwy Wood - PGF Kel NagleIrons - 2-PW Keith Knox R700
Wedges - Wilson Jerry Pate
Putter - Bulls Eye Copy
I think I've got one of those wedges. I could probably measure the loft of my wedges by looking at the angle of the divot when I duff a chip and the ball doesn't move.
On topic, my PW is 48 degrees according to the doco, which from all accounts is why Nickent put a 44 degree 10-iron in the set to bridge the gap to the 39 degree 9-iron. I have a 52 and 58 with it. For a hacker like me it makes sense to have more clubs at the lower end of the scale so you don't have to manufacture shots.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

So this experiment is going great. I'm finding that I'm not missing the 50* at all and my gapping has been much better with a 48* PW. Also getting the 3iron back in the bag has been really handy as I use it on tight par 4's.
Nothing like a tight hole.
Have a session at cool clubs tomorrow morning, to hit my 9/PW/GW/SW and get accurate distances, then bend lofts to get balanced gaps

Knowing the distances you can achieve with each iron and wedge is essential to playing good golf.
