Played the Carbrook Shark Lake this morning. 43 and 53 for a 96/80.

This included a 12 on the back nine and two triples, one of the front the other on the last.
Officially my worst score on a single hole...

It really was a what could have been round.

80/74 at Mareeba this morning with the Navy Social GC.
Started with 4 straight bogeys, then reeled off 7 pars before another bogey. Stumbled a bit in the closing holes (f'n double!), then birdied the last to save face.

Beaconhills lakes course yesterday.Hills course had been cored on Monday so we chose to walk the lakes twice.Great condition and the greens were quick without being to slick.
    79 off the stick,1 birdie.
This is 3 rounds in a row that I haven't shot more than bogey on a hole

Final round of club champs today. Before teeing off I was in the lead in the A grade nett by 2 shots.

Signed off on a 82/71 (nett 70 with the champs cap). A few doubles on the back 9 but nothing as dramatic as last week.

I'll know by around 3pm if it's enough, but either way the clubs will probably go away for a few weeks and I'll get some more cycling/parkrunning done on Sat mornings.

EDIT: Officially won the A grade nett (not sure by how much).

Last round club Champs. Played in the final group of B Grade.
I ended up DQ after tripling the first, doubling the second, par Doubled the fourth, then was 8 still trying to get out of the bunker on the 5th.
By then was over it and just practised for tomorrow's matchplay.

2ball Ambrose, such a fun day. I actually played the best I had in a while.

I think we finished at -4 (6 but I wasn’t really sure. Too busy laughing at my partners

Had my first game in 4 months Sat arvo. Just a social round at the home course to see how much rust there was. Played surprisingly well considering shooting 80 (40 pts equivalent). Think it helped having no expectations and used game golf to keep score so there was no scorecard pressure.

Think I’ve found my Vic Champs strategy. Put the clubs away for another 4 months and shoot the lights out in the civil war round!
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

    Well done KJ.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

    Nice work KJ.

With GL recovering from a coring, I played Belconnen GC today. They have just altered two holes to accommodate residential development.

Course was in excellent conditon considering the flooding it suffered Thursday night, and the back 9 reminded me a lot of Northern GC, Corowa etc.

28 meh points after failing to hole anything outside 4 foot, but a fun day at a much improved and maturing course.
