Depends on whether the handicapper can catch up with KJ in time.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

comp at Beaconhills today 25 /17 42 pts off 12 , 1 under front nine , 2 birdies one 3 putt bogey , back nine was a bit ordinary , one 3 putt and two lip outs off short putts , was clubhouse leader when I left . Looks like I applied the handbreak after 9 but I actually got pretty tired , is my fifth game in 12 days . Have scored 160 pts in my last four games ( I like playing off 12) wheels must fall off soon

I think I may have received a preview of what golf will be like for me in 10 years time, when I have got even older and can't hit the ball out of my own shadow any more.

We started in light rain, super-high humidity and on soft. damp fairways with no run. The ball was just going nowhere, particularly off the tee.

I struggled to 29 points, and I played reasonably well to get that. It could have been a lot worse. I was generally hitting two or three clubs more into greens than normal, and i couldn't even think about reaching our 400m par 4's.

I could demand a recount though. On one hole when the rain was heaviest I hit a chip quite close, and I was too lazy to go back and get my putter. So I putted with sand wedge from about 2 feet, and missed it.

If this is what I have in store for me as an old golfer, I'm not looking forward to it.

I played quite well today, but did some good handicap farming with a wipe on the last to total 34 points. I couldn't get my irons to go straight, but hopefully that is fixable.

The highlight of the day is a story that could go in the NTP thread. One of my playing partners hit a thin to win shot that got really lucky, and got to 67cm. One of the other guys asked him what his membership number was to enter it on the NTP card, but he couldn't remember. He claimed he was still thinking about that when he missed his 67cm birdie putt. One of the shortest birdie putts I've ever seen missed.

80/69 today for round 2 of club champs.

No birds, a couple of doubles, bunker play was tremendously poor, but otherwise scrambled well when I needed to and made some handy putts.

    Scond Round Club Champs.

Bunted around the park today for an 84/70 which should get me a few shots back on the leaders.

My swing is all over the shop at the moment but instead of going for the glory shots like last week, I just took my time and scrambled into the hole without too much fuss.

Well done KJ. At the risk of plagiarism my round was pretty much a carbon copy of yours. 80 net 69 (par 70) in the monthly medal at Royal Gordonvale today. Was the second best score when I left (net 68 leading).

Second round of club champs with Olinda GC 83 nett71 , solid without sinking any decent putts yet again , only one 3 putt tho , left my sand iron near the practice green , needed it on 5 of the first nine holes , retrieved it after nine then used it pretty well on 2 nd nine . had a double , par ,par double finish. lost "A" grade win on a countback . However, I won the MM medallist of the year in a 3 way countback . Am currently second in the overall nett by 2 shots for the club champs .

3rd round club champs. 81/73. Sitting 2nd overall nett, despite 3 rounds without a birdie.

Monsta is in the B grade seeded group tomorrow, 2 off the lead. Good luck buddy
