I'm thinking of joining Nudgee, I play at Virginia at the moment, but for what I pay there to what I can pay at Nudgee is outrageous. I'll save $300 to go to Nudgee, plus there's two courses and an actual drinks cart that gets around! That's right, Virginia deemed the drinks cart "too expensive" to run on the weekend during competition.

You may want to do some research if they're your reasons.

Theres a bit of work coming up on the courses and the drinks cart goes to one spot on each course. It doesn't drive around.

That's at Nudgee i'm guessing? Aware of the work coming up, got friends at Nudgee that have filled me in. From what I've heard there's always going to be 27 playable holes. My grief is moreso for the club at Virginia, the club is very poor and not in great shape at the moment. It's either Nudgee or Pacific at Carindale for me.

That's the way I'm leaning, I did play at Pacific yesterday and the course is in great shape despite all the warm weather and lack of rain. Cost is the big problem I have with Pacific

    Default Nudgee Golf

So I've decided today that Nudgee will be my new club from October onwards. I've been at Virginia for the last 4 or so years and had some really good times there, but feel that it's time for a change. Membership has been sent off and fees paid, looking forward to getting out and enjoying a different course. In the end I chose between Pacific and Nudgee, while I do enjoy Pacific as a course, it's probably a little too expensive for what it is. I know that Nudgee will undergo some renovations but from what I've heard they'll still have 27 playable holes all the time. Also, would love to make the Nudgee Penants team next year, that's a big goal of mine!

If cost is an issue why not try Riverlakes or Carbrook?
Both only a half hours drive from Carindale and I would suggest both courses have superior greens to Pacific.

A friend of mine suggested Carbrook, I've never actually played there but have heard good things. Only problem is I want to be able to play midweek without the half hour drive, given I work on the north side, that rules the southern courses out. I do Live south side, which is why I was tempted to join Pacific. I'm only 5 minutes from Nudgee with work, so I can get there nice and quickly.

What handicap do you play off? A few years ago the Nudgee Pennants team, which was in Div 1, was very strong. I think they might have even won Division 1 at that stage.

I just checked, and they came third this year.

To me the only people that get a fair deal are social groups. Like the ones that play early on Sunday mornings.

Playing off 2.2 at the moment. Still lots of improvement in the game so I think if I can work on a few little things i'll get to where I need to be. Played pennants for Virginia this year and went 4 & 1 so that was a good intro in to the match play arena. I know Daniel Stringfellow at Nudgee, he played pennants this year, so did Jake Newberry. Good to have a goal.
