    Default Courses to play?

I have the good fortune of being home by myself for a week from this Friday coming until the following Sunday so thought I might take a drive to the west of Melbourne and check out some areas I haven't got to yet. Are there any must play courses within say a 5 hour drive from the Yarra Valley?

Preference would be to find somewhere reasonably dry, given the slop around at the moment!

Port Fairy is brilliant. I spent the weekend in Warrnambool, so I can say with some authority that they have had plenty of rain down that way, but I'd still go and play Port Fairy. I think that would be the ultimate 'road trip' course in Victoria. It's on sand dunes, so you only need a dry day and it will be much better than a muddy inland track. It's a well presented course, right on the coast with great views and a nice part of the world to visit. You can't go wrong. I played it on a rainy day a few years back and copped a massive drenching over the last 6 holes, and I still enjoyed every minute.

There are plenty of other options on the way there and back - how many rounds did you want to fit in?
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!
