Default What did you shoot? August 2017

A new month, but the same old stuff for me on the course today.

32 points, with three 3-putt double bogeys destroying any chance of a good score. Nothing horrible (apart from the doubles) but nothing great either.

The course is starting to get firm and fast, so it actually matters where you leave the ball for your recovery shots. I left myself in some difficult spots, and then failed the test miserably.

I played in the City of Cairns individual stableford round this afternoon and shot 41pts (20/21) to finish 3rd.
4 birdies, 2 ferrets, 25 putts (including a 3-putt ). I picked a great day to do it as the prizes were substantial. I'm a little concerned that I've peaked prematurely though as the 54-hole Stroke event starts on Friday.

Nice round mate. How about the 48 points in the team event? Couldn't believe that. I thought 39 would be a good score.

I had 35, Anton 34, Pieter 33 and poor Thomas had the shanks.
Anton had 76 mtrs in to the 15th today. Biggest drive I've ever seen there.

Well done Courty. You're going to have to do some serious farming to get your handicap back up in time for the Qld Champs.

1st round of CoC today. I shot 83/76, but made it a lot more difficult than it needed to be.
Some wayward drives left me dead under/ behind trees on numerous occasions. I turned at +9, but went on to shoot +2 on the back thanks to an chip-in eagle on 13 and a birdie on 16.
Not too disappointed with the final score given the shit that I served up for most of it.

    First round of CoC.

    79/74

After a double on the first came back and played the front 9 in +3. Continued solid through until my second shot on 14. Hit a shank into the creek and somehow managed a pretty good bogey, then bogey 15 and 16 then missed a short birdie on 17 and mid length birdie on 18. ☹️

Overall it was a fun day, looking forward to cleaning it up tomorrow and having another crack. So far lowest gross is 76 so not completely out of it.

You were both playing with Solarman. That's an additional handicap before you even start.

84/79. Drove it poorly, putted poorly, short game just couldn't keep up.

Had to chip out or layup 6 times which compounds things. One round to go.

40kph winds, sopping wet course, shocking scoring. 96/87.Tried the G400 around the course today. Not that much of a fan as the flight was way too high. Will try an epic or fusion tomorrow after the expected 125kph winds tonight.

88/78 in the Redland bay Black Marker.

41/47 tale of two different nines. Plus having to wait for the 4 slow old ****s in the carts on the back 9 didn't help.

    57% fairways
    50% GIR
    35putts

My putting stats don't look that great, but I feel like I'm putting pretty well, it's more my short game not being very good. Plus I probably need to be a bit stricter on my stats.

Had a good day today.... The quick 9 holes practice I had yesterday help a lot I think.

Played 23 handicap... With 39 points with 2 holes wiped. Figuring out the driver and able to hit all but two fairway does help a lot (one is the long drive hole too)

Only let down today was my putting... Missed a few easy 3 foot putt doesn't help.

3rd and final round of CoC today. My only goal was to improve on the first two rounds (83, 86). It wasn't looking os good after a bogey double start, but I steadied and got it back on track.
