Much better golf today. Out in level par thanks to a soft bogey on 9. Looking good until back to back softies on 15 & 16. Good par saves on 17 and 18, all in all it was a good day. The whole group played much better.

    75/70

My putting stats don't look that great, but I feel like I'm putting pretty well, it's more my short game not being very good. Plus I probably need to be a bit stricter on my stats.

Well done Bushy and good work Courty coming back with a better result today.

    Warning: Major Boast Alert.

Today, in the Mega Pro Comp off the white tees at Ballina, I had 42 points, off an already reduced handicap of 6. Even par off the stick.

This was a personal course record for me at Ballina, an equal second best round ever (I've broken par once) and I think it was my best round for 14 years. And I won the overall comp, for a double 1st place prize.

Obviously, everything was working for me today. I made some miracle recovery pars from the trees early, then a chip-in birdie, and from the 5th onwards just played really well.

For once, I can't say I left many out there.

The only downside I can think of is that my handicap will take another beating. There goes any chance of me competing for the prizes at the Qld Champs.

Driving and putting was good today.... Irons and chipping.... Not so good.... Played 10 and strokes in par 4 holes does not score well... (both were chops on short chips to fly behind green in to bushes)

    Ended day with 103 strokes...

First round in 3-4 weeks...played pretty ordinary golf and 28 points (15/13) reflected it. 2 wipes and way too many 1 pointers/3 putts/stray shots.
