    Default Travel Bag

Heading interstate for a golf trip and was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on travel bags?

I have a carry bag that i'll take and was going to simply take the heads off my driver and 3 wood and then pack the rain hood with clothes to protect the clubs.

I don't envisage doing a heap of travel but just saw that travel bags are relatively inexpensive.

    Love to hear some views.

I borrowed a friends Eagles and Birdies travel bag for a recent OS trip

    https://www.underpar.com.au/ID100060...006094/7053-16

It was great - solid, easily manoeverable, and relatively lightweight for what it was. No damage, just enough pocket space for the things I needed in a round.

Courty and a few of the other boys that go to Melbourne have these gigantic kick arse all in 1 bags.

Thanks guys, would probably just look at a travel cover than an actual "bag"

I have an Eagle and Birdies EB200 heaps of room for clothes and shoes. As well as plenty of padding for the clubs. Lightweight as well.

Given the baggage changes in some domestic carriers it now makes sense to use a travel bag rather than a cover. Shove all your clothes and shoes into the travel bag and avoid having to check two bags. Best brand I have used is Ogio.

Agreed, my ogio would have seen 20000km plus of airtravel, and while it has a few frays, it's still going strong.

Any updates on recommendations for travel bags? I thought I had decided to keep using my old travel cover, but I keep coming back to looking at new travel bags.

The Eagles & Birdies 200 at $149 seems like a good deal.

Looks pretty similar to the Ogio one I have, although I guess there are only so many ways to make a travel bag.

Andyp. If you are not taking long busy trips then it doesn't really matter, just grab any old thing. i have carried mine all over the world and it gets tough on long trips when you have suitcases as well. I will be buying one of those Sun Mountain Gliders next, I dont care how much they cost.

Nearly all airlines count a golf bag as a single standard luggage now at 23kg limit, and most Eco tickets only include one free, so if you do get a golf bag that can carry extra stuff, thats a bonus. 1 weeks clothes and golf clubs fits neatly in 23kg. On the other hand I have an Eagles Birdies combo travel bag but 23kg is effing heavy and awkward when its that big.

The bags that can carry some extra stuff is what I am looking at, and don't want to get a dud that doesn't do the job, or doesn't last very long. The current one I have is basically just a cover and has no wheels, so most of these would be an upgrade. Even though that Stonehaven one would be $30 cheaper, I'm still leaning towards Eagles & Birdies due to the recommendations above.

I picked up at Stonehaven one last year. Its only done Vic Champs 2020, but held together well and fitted everything I need.

I do look on with envy at Courty's travel bag though.

Club glove make the best travel bags, expensive but worth the coin. GB had one on clearance that I snapped up.

I agree with MTB, for domestic travel you can purchase relatively anything; well other than this complete P.O.S that lasted about 3 trips for me:

    https://www.golfclearanceoutlet.com....ver-black.html

Don't believe the reviews, the fabric is that really cheap fibro stuff, had multiple rips and seam tears after one trip.

How does it compare to the E&B that you borrowed? How much clothes did you throw in the Stonehaven?

The E&B was borrowed as it was smaller than a stand bag and sturdier. Its safe, but not a 'good bag'

The giant bag cushion allowed 5 days of Vic Champs clothes and a second set of clubs to travel.

    Different purposes for different missions.

I'm trying to work out what I should take to King Island in January...

This Woodworm cover bag is from the same seller. I've never heard of the brand, but the sales spiel sounds impressive.

Woodworm is a British Cricket brand, obviously venturing into entry level golf now.

    Similar model to Sports Direct

Ah, so it was an actual golf bag, and not a travel cover bag. I saw those around, and a couple of the E&B ones on Gumtree.
