Aren't the caddys responsible for fairway bunkers? Bubba and his caddy just walked off after bubba had two go's out of a fairway bunker.

Yep, one person following each group to rake the bunkers.

He's just finished double, bogey, double so could miss the cut.

He can wear his Michelle Wie boots on the plane home.

It's an American thing. Generally. There's a misconception that a point will suffice.

Honest question regarding Todd Hamilton. Should his exemption continue?

I read an article on IBF that he could've potentially lost his age 65 exemption into the open due to poor showing back in his slump.

Surely Todd is close to that. I watch ALOT of golf and only seem to see/hear him two days a year. 79/79 for +18 and DFL isn't the greatest showing. Would've been nice to see Dylan Perry if the runner up got a start.

I'm sure I watched something the other week and the announcers stated they were fined if they didn't yell out.

Let's hope he does, not that it will probably make any difference. Once a prick, always a prick. It's a dog of a thing to do, or not do in this case.

I can't recall watching a comp with so many shots ending in the rough, must be getting the rain in their eyes.

I understand the point raised, but it is the same in the other majors. The Masters is probably worse, with its limited field and mythical status as a venue.

My view is that there are a lot of ways to qualify for the Open, and if you can't fulfill any of the categories, maybe you don't deserve to be there.

As for the golf itself, the traditionalists would be beside themselves with joy. They generally don't even bother to play in such weather in the States, although it was pointed out by the commentators that usually when it rains in the US it is due to thunderstorms. But the Americans never get the combo of wind, rain and a links course with super deep rough in places.

There were a few notable casualties. I was most surprised to see (or not see, as he didn't get any TV time) Justin Thomas miss the cut. I didn't even see what he was wearing.

Jordan is obviously the big favourite, but he's carrying my money, so he can't win. Rory was really good for a while. If he does it again he can win. If it isn't one of those two it could be a last man standing who wins after all the others fall apart. Go Hideki!
