Default 2017 Qld Champs Warm-up - Gordonvale Golf Club: Thursday 7th September

Whether you want to fine tune your game, do some last minute sand-bagging, or simply to experience the famous (..infamous..) Gordonvale Golf Club, then you're welcome to join me. http://www.gordonvalegolfclub.com.au/http://www.swingbyswing.com/courses/...olf-Club/43259
    • Cost: $20 including comp fees - single stroke according to fixtures list. Carts are available so please let me know if you would like one reserved.
    • Time: Latest tee times for the comp are usually around 12:30pm. I should be able to get later tee times if required, to give anyone travelling on the day some extra time to get to GGC.
Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

    I can highly recommend this.

Remind me again why I'm playing at Gordonvale instead of doing this myself?

Because Courty doesn't want to suffer alone and needs someone to listen to him whinge.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, illness or injury the groups for Thursday are:
    Group 1: 11:56am
    Courty Lefty Jimandr Peter_rs
    Group 2: 12:03pm
    Haysey Benno_r Bushy
    Group 3: 12:10pm
    Dcanto AndyP KristianJ

As we are the last three groups we do have the ability to tee off a bit later if required, The only caveat being that if we tee off a bit later we may not be able to get carts for the later groups.

All part of the relaxed FNQ lifestyle.

Although when it's the middle of summer and the humidity is 90%, a cart can seem an attractive option.

The average age of Gordonvale members is 75. That jumps to 83 if you exclude DCanto.

It has been referred to as 'God's waiting room'.

Are you staying at Bay Village? I could possibly swing past after picking Andy up from the airport if there isn't an earlier ride out to G'vale. Andy's flight is not due in till 11ish.

There's grass where it needs to be. It's just we weren't hitting it anywhere near that.

Thanks guys for coming out to Gordonvale. Hopefully it wasn't as bad as you may have anticipated. For a club with limited resources it does what it can.
