    Default Brisbane Golf Courses

    Hi Lads,

Moving up North in Sept/Oct this year from Melbs and just wondering what some good courses are relatively close to the cbd. Will be living in the northern suburbs around the Windsor/Albion area. Would play most saturdays and probably a couple of mornings during the week so want something relatively close. Have looked at Nudgee and Virginia so far and they look ok.

is there anywhere else i should be looking?

    Cheers

Nudgee has 3puttpete as a member. Virginia has Ferrins.

    Your choice.

Keperra Golf Club probably best condition, 27 Holes, http://www.keperragolf.com.au/cms/ not sure if anyone here is a member. Approx 25 Mins from Albion, Virginia is about 17 mins (also 27 holes), Nudgee is 36 holes, but in the process of being ripped up and remade. is about 18 mins from Albion.

    Oi!

Work is due to start later this year and the estimate is 2 years so probably 3.

Will have 18 playable at all times.

Redcliffe is a pretty quick trip up the motorway against traffic.

Even indooroopilly golf club is only 22 mins away from albion if you want to spend some coin, they have 4 separate 9's which they can make into 6 different and unique courses. Condition is usually very good as are the member facilities but that is reflected in the membership fees.

And if you are willing to travel to Indo, then Brisbane GC would also come into contention.

Royal Queensland is not far away either.

Depends on your budget I guess. Like with most things quality moves with price. RQ > Indro > Keperra > Nudgee/Virginia. Weekday morning games might be easiest to get to Nudgee or Virginia as commuter traffic should be going the other way. I grew up down the road from Virginia and Nudgee and also used to live at Windsor for a while. Keperra would be my pick if I still lived there as best bang for buck.

Thanks for the info guys, i think i'll check out Keperra first as that will probably be the closest to where we'll be living and looks good bang for buck.

Bit of an update guys.....still looking at courses. Have read some reviews that Keperra isn't in the best condition atm?

Really looking to spend under 2k and ideally no joining fee as I'm not sure how long I'll be in Bris for.

Has anyone played at Pacific lately?

If you are staying in Windsor go for Nudgee virginia and keppera are your close ones. Perhaps play them before joining? Pacific is a better course than them, but you have to cross the river to play it and it used to have a member 'loan' set up where you sort of paid a joining fee over a number of years. Iain is currently a member so he could chime in with current condition.
