My Link died, but fortunately it was within the two year warranty (by one month). They have given me another one, but I didn't really miss it.

I've decided to dive into the Arccos thing. I've only got 9 rounds in there so far, but it's confirming what I've pretty much always known... my ball-striking is generally poor/ inconsistent (particularly irons), but my work around the greens props up my game.

****, you should've just given me $129.95 a year to tell you that.

Like I'm paying it for this little gem...

It told me after a round that I had lost 3.1 strokes compared to a 6 marker in my 0-25 chips. Considering I had two chips in that area, which both went on the green to an average of 2m from the pin, it was baffling. Turns out that when the app was being a shit and wouldn't let me reorder a couple of shots on a hole initially, that the putt ended up going before the two chips, and somehow screwing up the strokes gained calculation.

I would like it if it used a bit more smarts or prompted you when things are a bit off. Like the situation above, or when it counts a drive on a tee that was near the last green as the previous hole. There would be very few circumstances where a putt is followed by a drive on the same hole.

It is better now that it knows where you stop if a shot is missed. I am still 50% on renewing. I just sent in the course changes for the new hole etc, and will see how long they take to make the changes.

Unless it is in the free Google Maps, they probably won't. Bunkers years old at my course aren't mapped, and the 6 month old extended 11th isn't in either. The app has created unnecessary stress multiple times for me, and I am due to renew in a few weeks. I like the numbers, but I haven't found time to find the best alternative.

Anything with GPS/auto shot recording is going to be based on potentially out-of-date course mappings.

If you want strokes gained, Golf Stats Coach is nice, but expensive. Golf Metrics is cheaper.

I pay for their product, why can't they pay for up to date mapping?

I love Golfmetrics, used it for years pre-Arccos. More manual but it is Broadie’s app so the stats are as precise as you’ll get.

I looked up GolfMetrics, not much info about it on website. Seems shot tracking is fully manual, and no gps location either?

I've been using it for a while.

It surprised me how good of a putter I technically am, and how terrible of a driver I am.

So much I think I'll be making a driver change soon to try and keep it a bit straighter

The arccos link in my driver fell out of its socket and flew off somewhere. Apparently, arccos stopped selling replacements. Now I have a empty socket in my grip. Annoying..

Nope. If I knew how it happened, I'd be more confident is saying whether or not it was likely to happen again. I've checked the url above and they are available but with postage you're looking at AUD$41.00. Cheaper to change the grip.

I'd advise you to contact Arccos direct, they may be able to do something. I needed a replacement clip for my link device (reminds me, I need another :eyeroll and the website was going to charge me £40 pound for shipping plus the purchase price.

I emailed them and they sent me one for free. No problems.

With that news a name change is more pressing than a driver change.
