The look on Cordner's face during the post game interview with Fittler was a sight to behold.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Great fightback by QLD, we were so outplayed for the majority of that game it was scary. NSW forwards had ours on the ropes...too quick and strong.

That old chestnut hey? Lose the game blame the ref... I thought the referring wasn't very good overall in both directions. Lots of missed calls. Personally I think stemming from wanting to let the game flow and the players took advantage of it. NSW were no doubt the better side for the majority of the game but once again when the game is on the line NSW halfs went missing.

Softest penalty in origin history when slater fell over after being nudged by Maloney, set the tone.

At least 4 forward passes missed, even with qld offside most of the first half nsw were still too good.

The game was ruined as a spectacle by the refs, should have been 30+. If slater had been given that penalty for getting run off the ball the crowd would have torn the place down.

Maybe the poor attendance in game 1 was being addressed, seemed that way early

Refs may have helped Qld more but we didn't deserve to win with how we played that 2nd half.
Why the f@&k they didn't target Thurston who was obviously shot is beyond me and Graham raking the ball out when they got field position back near the end is one of the most idiotic things I've seen. The set from the short kick off at the death was a disgrace also.

NSW forwards ran out of puff and were run over in the last 20. Blame the ref if you like, he didn't miss tackles or drop the ball. League seems to have a don't blow penalties and let the game flow mentality, which is great unless you lose.

You can't win. Let the game flow and refs didn't now the whistle enough. Call everything and you didn't let the players play.

Sums it up pretty well for me!

Imagine the attendance at the last game with NSW 2-0. Would be pretty disappointing for NRL's money spinner... especially with all the bad press about re: SOO wrecking the main comp.

more forward passes let go than in a rugby game

NSW did lose that game though, Pearce went missing again. I don;t think the forwards were outplayed though, only Fifita was made ineffective I thought.

Do Slater and Maloney dislike each other?

NSW forwards were clearly dominant in the first half. I guess it was less so in the second which is what I meant by ran out of puff. The go forward seemed to fall off, when the QLD forwards seemed to lift a bit, or become more effective.

He is wearing a blue jersey why wouldn't Slater dislike him.

Probably......the issue I have with Slater was in sharp focus last night.

He's a cat and JT is the business. I will heave if Slater is an immortal.

Thurston gone for the season, needs shoulder surgery ASAP and Darius gone too with a broken thumb.

Really? Bit of a stretch saying Darius Boyd is the greatest player to ever play the game isn't it? You couldn't have been talking about the other numpty in that sentence so you must have been talking about Boyd, surely?

Looked liked a crap game of football to me. Enjoyed the T-bone steak at the pub though!
