31d hit it on the head. Monstered in the middle. The 2 dumbass penalties in a row gave the Blues momentum in the second half on top of the try right on half time hurt. Fifita was awesome, gotta love a big unit that moves fast.

On a side note, a game that takes players off for head knocks but fails to penalise high shots seems a bit stupid ... (and they went both ways).

Queensland were dominated up the middle. Their pack is either old or out of form. Miles, Thaiday and Lillyman are past their used by date and Guerra doesn't deserve to be picked on current form. Problem is they have no depth. There isn't a lot to choose from to replace them. I would start by bringing in Wallace and Lowe however because change needs to be made. And even though I don't think he is ready for origin just yet Hess's ability to find the line wouldn't go astray.

The pack needs to improve for sure, we have two good youngsters to come in if they go that way. Our packs have come back from similar predicaments many times, whether they can this time remains to be seen.

Changing centres will help some, O,Neill missed a whopping 8 tackles. Gagai is a level above O,Neill and letting him go paves the way for Slater to come in and work his attacking combinations with Cronk and Smith.

But yes first up is the forwards firing a lot more or we are gawn. It's a superb NSW pack now and they work well together. If Tedesco gets the ball in even half decent position very often lookout.

Gagai was awesome, I'd be hesitant to move him in case he's less effective.

Apart from the one lapse that cost a try, Hayne was surprisingly good too.

Hopefully we don't find a way to chuck it away.

No prisoners taken and goes a bit away from our norm in that so many changes have been made. I didn't think they'd be quite ready to drop Thaiday given how many other forward changes were made and he went well on the weekend. I thought he might fire in this one after some criticism from close associates. Hopefully experience in the forwards, or lack of it doesn't hinder us.

Holmes should have always been in the first game and now ironically Oates, after being lucky to be selected is axed after a very good game 1.

Should be a corker, can't wait.

No complaints on any of the axings except Oates.

In Game 1 he was money under the NSW kicks and was the only QLDer to score points. He has every right to feel hard done by.

Exactly, alarm bells are ringing. It's not the first time we've looked in deep trouble but there sure is a sudden difference in policy. I think we went two chops too many in the forwards. Definitely not conceding yet tho. Slater and Thurston should liven things up.

Some piss poor reffing but realistically just another game that NSW couldn't finish off.
Doesn't feel that long ago that Johns had to play hooker now we can't even find a half who can manage a team or who knows mid field bombs aren't the only type of kick.

WOW!!!!!! I think overconfidence got the better of NSW and they got a bit lost when QLD toughened up in the second half. It was great Hayne scored early as it went straight to his head and he would have near been Queenslands players player. That was probably the match late in the first half when he didn't pass to an unmarked Morris with a clear run to the line.

Can't believe how well our forwards stood up, particularly after coming off second best in the first half.

    Great game of footy.

Shaping up to be a great decider. NSW spent the first 3/4 of the game looking like the side from game one and the last 1/4 looking like the side from the last 10 years.

I don't normally bother watching the shite after the game but seeing Joey visibly seething with rage at how they fell apart was brilliant tv!
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

Watching Joey was almost as good as watching the winning try. Man did he go OFF.

Should be a fantastic decider and the good thing is we won't be taking anything for granted.
