Default What did you shoot: May 2017

Public holiday here so I went for a hit. I shouldn't have bothered. 27pts after turning with only 10pts. I've got the old OTT move back & it's doing my head in!

First midweek comp, 37pts and the overall win! 2 wipes and a couple of missed putts could have put me at 40+

Knocked another .5 off the cap. Down to 23.2 now. Bring on Saturday!

I wasn't in the right frame of mind yesterday for work so decided to play in the mid week (Stableford) competition instead. 35 points with 2 wipes and some terribly inconsistent ball striking and performance on the greens. I should have been 3-4 shots (points) better at minimum with lipped out putts so going to work on that before Saturday's monthly medal hopefully.

I'm currently sitting at GA: 8.4 and want to be down to 5-6 come summer time again hopefully.

    Thanks fellas.

Today was almost another chapter in the good form book.

20 points on the front 9 but only managed a paltry 14 on the back 9. Had a birdie on 16 for 4pts. Putter stopped working at the turn. Plenty of jokes were had about protecting the 20+ handicap I hold haha

Inconsistent is the word for me today. Cored greens with thick sand made putting near impossible.

An early wipe and 1 pointer but still managed 19pts at the turn but 3 wipes on the second 9 for a miserable 13pts and 32pts total was disappointing.

First Round of the Cairns Open. Mediocre, I didn't shoot myself out of it at least. No birdies and one silly double.

    82/74

Monthly Cup at Gordonvale and managed to shoot one of my better scores in a while. 78 net 66 (par 70). Nothing flash just relatively consistent golf with no major stuff-ups. How good is golf?

1st round of the Cairns Open with Bushy & Solarman.

I lost some balls, I lost a headcover and I lost the plot.

    95/86.

Monthly medal, 75/67 which was good enough to win A Grade but missed monthly medal by 2 shots...

    Monthly medal today. 87/78.
Could not hit an iron all day and they were the clubs that were good for the last 2 months.
That changed the indexes on the holes this week. Didn't really matter with Stroke but will be interesting next week with Stableford.

Snuck in a sneaky 18 at Kiawah after breakfast this morning. Started poorly with a number of blocked drives to be 7 over through 8.

Hit a sweet 8i to 25cm on par 3 8th for a bird to get it back together. Played the last 10 holes 1 over to finish 79 off the stick

    42/37 79

Round 2 of the Open today.

Something clicked and I played the first 9 in 36 (+1), but after the turn it was a carbon copy of yesterday's tripe. 88/79.

Much of the same. A 4putt triple on the 4th followed by a double on the 5th rattled the cage but played some good golf over the closing 9 to limit the damage.

    83/75
