Net 69 yesterday, including making two long putts from off the green. If only my partner haven't ncr'd. Also managed to redesign my 5i with a bit too much follow through on a punch shot. 😞
After yesterday's debarcle, put a newer driver/3w and putter in the bag, and hit Maryborough for another stableford comp. Started solidly, grabbing 2 pointers on the first 7 holes. A great driver and stellar 8i to a foot on index 2 8th, saw a 4pt haul to be 18pts through 8. Hit a nice wedge onto 9, and just missed the putt for an easy par to turn with 20pts.
A great birdie putt on 10 from the fringe really had me humming, but a double on 11 after a blocked tee shot onto some hard pan brought me back to earth. Reeled off 2 more pars on 12 and 13, both times the bird putt lipped. A blocked drive and some good scrambling saw another par on the tough 14. 15 and 16 both had tough shots played too aggressively after poor drives for a bogie and a double.
17 and 18 are super tough finishing holes, especially into the wind. 190m 17th fell just short of the green into a spongey lie. Bumped a hybrid to a foot for an easy par. 18 was playing long, driver hybrid left me 10 short of the green, fizzed a sw that clipped the flag, leaving an easy par, giving me the best round of golf in my life. 76 (+6) off the stick.

Well done Benno. What's the handicap after that score is processed?

Golf is a stupid game sometimes. I had 34 points this morning, which included 4 wipes and 2 one pointers.

33 this morning. Drove the ball well and couldn't putt.
Once you go yellow, you will never go back
Stroke on the White course at Cairns this morning. Hit the ball well, 6 putts hit the lip with only one of them dropping and 2 horseshoe's. Perfect weather if not a little damp in patches.
75/68 leading overall when I left.
85/76. Meh.
Must be Bushy's shout for burgers soon.

Nice score Bushy. Well done.
