Kooralbyn is only $250 if you live >150km away.

Sorry mate, no idea. Someone from Melbourne may chime in.

    Play near where u live!
    Easier on the home front.

Maybe 13th beach but nothing good and cheap over your side of town!

    Welcome btw!

    Pete

P.S. I learnt to fly at Pt Cook many years ago!

How far are you prepared to drive is the question really

Hey guys, thanks for all the options so far. Will call and check out Kew Golf Club and La Trobe in Alphington. As they'll be suitable for morning 18 holes and the off to work (in hospitality and do evening shifts) Any thoughts?

My mate used to be a member at Sanctuary Lakes, he stopped there and, we (3 of us) all signed up to Kew (i haven't paid so I am in the next intake), I think this is the first time they have opened up to public, we played a round with the Captain, the course is currently undergoing upgrades, I think only couple of holes left, you wont get better course than Kew IMO if you talking about proximity to the city, PM I'll send you some details.

Depends on how far your willing to drive.

Lonsdale (Curlewis) would be worth considering; about an hour from where you're from, the future new reno plans look very impressive

Sunshine GC is decent enough to call home

If you have deeper pockets then perhaps 13Beach or Bheads; you might need a few nominees to get into Barwon Heads but if you can get in a very well connected club. Excellent recips

As long as you know MPS, unless you r <26 years old, Kew GC will cost u about 8 to 10K to join and about 4K a year in subs. You better play a lot before work to see the value imho!

What's MPS? Kew is pretty cheap these days Pete, subs for over 35 is less than 3k for 7 days. I'm up for 1400 for 6 day @ 32

    MPS = Mannpreetsingh.

    Pretty obvious I would reckon!

I was told by a committee member that it is around high 3's for 7 day which is in line with the upper echelon of melbourne courses!
He could have been pulling my pud though. Am I near the money on nomination AYM?

Don't get me wrong, I think Kew is a very good course...probably the best of the non sandbelts and the recent work has made it playable all year round! Good option if it is near home imho.

    Ah gotcha!

Yeah if you are over 35 when joining it's about 8k.

Spring valley was only going to charge about 2k to join, much more playable in Winter, but it was a 45 mins drive as opposed to 10...
