Garage Course Design & Maintenance
Evening ladies, gents...and ladygents.
I have a few hypothetical questions around course design and maintenance. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section.- When recording the length of a hole for official purposes, how are elevation changes considered, if at all?
- Is there an official guide as to how par ratings are calculated?
- How is a green established on a fresh bit of ground?
- Flair mower or rotary?
- Is there a website or book that covers this stuff and everything that goes with it?
Cheers.
Jake

- When recording the length of a hole for official purposes, how are elevation changes considered, if at all? - Not really, but see next point!!!
- Is there an official guide as to how par ratings are calculated? - Yes VGA used to have it on there site might be on AGU site now or what ever state GU your from
- How is a green established on a fresh bit of ground? - Drains, some aggregate, really expensive tested growing medium, amendments and bent seed or couch sprigs and wallah, easy.
- Flair mower or rotary? WTF!! cylinder for short stuff rotary for long stuff, Flail if your a country council in central Victoria and your cutting roadside
- Is there a website or book that covers this stuff and everything that goes with it? Millions* of expensive books let google be your friend here, AGCSA or GCSAA but USGA field section is best if your up with the technical lingo
Cheers

You, like, don't think I'm in the industry? Pfffffffft....
...actually just because I'm interested and want to broaden my already quite broad horizons, plus wouldn't mind creating a few holes on some dirt.
