Default What did you shoot? March 2017

A slightly late start to the monthly thread.

I'll start it with a totally honest 36 points. With woeful putting.

I played really well, but hit a number of poor short putts, including one I didn't hit at all. Yep.. the dreaded one inch tap in that I missed completely. I remember saying once that I would never do that again. But I was wrong.

I think we have an air swing thread somewhere. I'd better go find it.

    Monthly medal. (41/49) 90/80.

Should have stayed in bed, on and off wind and rain that was enough to ruin the day but would stop whenever I thought about leaving. Also got stuck with a guy who caused us to fall 3-4 holes behind with his pre shot routine so by the turn it was really a case of no f@$ks given.

Monthly medal . 37/44 (net 70) . Had a great day until the 16th where I drove left into the trees and ended up in a wash away( local rule). Told my playing partner who was 20m away and he just kept walking and yelled out " I can't see from here".
Lost my shit with him and dropped the ball for the last three holes with double, double , triple.
Could have been my best round ever.

I wish. Good tee shot followed by a slightly wayward 2nd shot into the right side trees. My 3rd I tried to take some medicine and just get out of trouble but hit a tree and landed back on the 10th tee box. 4th I tried to hit over trees and clipped leaves/branches and dropped straight down. A couple more shots had me on and then rolling off of the green (6). On for 7 and a dirty 3 putt finished me off. I putted really well all day until that point.

    Quality farming, Feelzy.

It'll probably count as a net 70 for handicapping though.

Are you still playing the 'new' driver from the auction?

Monthly Medal this morning. I was 2 over through 15 (going shot-for-shot with Bushy... see above) and choked hard (dropped 4 shots in last 3 holes).

I still finished with 78/69, but it wasn't enough to win the LLB Cup.

39 points today in the MM at NH. Was heading for a 62 nett but lost the plot on the last and shot an 8. Lost the MM by two strokes. F***!

Cheers Dave, I should add that I did it with out a 6i and a 5i as the heads came off pre/mid round. Need to talk to my club maker about this. Totally unacceptable.

Dare I ask who the club maker was?

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Medal yesterday. It was a bit wet...

Started with 6 pars, then leaked a bit for 39 for the front.

Scrambled a bogey on 10, flubbed a chip a foot on 11 on the way to double, then make a one putt 8 on 12 and my day was over...

Ended up with 86/78 - which with a DSR of 77 was a flag round. Yikes.

    That'd be fun.
