4 Ball Ambrose for St Pattys Day, 59.5 Nett, so unlikley to be in the running. 4 Drives per Player with two 30+ handicappers makes it a little tough.

I feel the need to post as I'm in a pretty shocked state ATM.
I had 20 points today, and I was lucky to have that.
I think that's the worse competition score I've ever had in my life, can't even remember having worse when I was young and single and getting home at 3am and playing the next day etc...
It was like I was in an outer body experience, like someone else was playing in my body and I was watching.
I just can't understand what just happened.
I've never walked off the golf course because I was playing that bad, and I didn't today as the guy I was playing with was playing very well so I wanted to keep him motivated and upbeat, he ran 2nd in a grade so I feel good for him.
I'm just shocked, and pretty embarrassed to be honest.....

It happens. I had 21 points in a comp last year and it was like I had never played before. Try not to think about it - it was just one of those days. Either that or you need to change all your equipment. 😁

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Good on u for writing about it Nemo. Have a dozen Peroni's and then get on eBay and buy some stuff and you'll be right mate.

Would a participation certificate make you feel better?

It's amateur golf. It happens all the time. HTFU and get 40 points next week.

On the bright side, I hope you at least got some pleasure out of your mate's good play and the fact that you weren't playing at Macarthur Grange or Yering Meadows.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.

Yeh Dotty as Peps would say "I need a hug" by the way where has that 50yo white dude gone?
Anyway I felt good after I had a few Peroni's with him and when I got home....

Go to BWS and find the oldest bottle of a red blend mate.

At least that'll make it slightly better.

15/14 -29 pts. Irons were good , putter was average, driver was .... lets just say I would have been more effective kicking the ball off the tee.

Started wipe, 1, 1 then parred in to turn with 17pts. Steady 18 on the second nine to finish with 35pts.

Course was really soggy (preferred lies, bunkers GUR) due to around 150mm of rain this week. Still, happy to get out & play given that this time yesterday we were expecting to be preparing for a cyclone.
