I had a second good round in a row for 38 points today. I won't describe it as a purple patch unless I have a third good round.

I played really well today, and if the putter hadn't gone cold at the end of the round this would have been a great score. On Wednesday I finished with 5 one-putts in a row. Today it was 5 two-putts, and four of them were under 10 feet.

We don't have a thread for this (and we don't need one), but combining my last round and this one I had 9 successful up and down opportunities in a row until I missed a 3 footer on 12 today. Of course, I now have a run of 5 unsuccessful up and down attempts since.

Woke up at 4am for no reason and in my half awake state decieded to play today. Took care of the 5 food groups with a breakfast of donuts and a can of v and played accordingly. Easily my worst round for a fair while. Pulled most iron shots left and was not good off the tee. 11/14 for 25pts.

36pts with a wipe & 4 x 1s. It was nice to get a bit of confidence back & hit some decent shots.

73/71 in a stroke event today on a wet course after another 200mm of rain during the week. Won't be a flag.

+3 in a par comp at Queenscliff. Would have been 39 points. Consistent bogey golf, which isn't usually my game. Only two minuses for the whole day, and one of them was the only hole I get 2 shots on playing off 19. Handicap back to 15.5 / 18 at home. I thought it might have held up for the comp win with our small fields and a windy day, but somebody snuck in with +4 and knocked me off. Happy to be finding some form though.

Early start at Richmond this morning. I started off reasonably well, albeit with a few dodgy tee shots, to be even after 4 holes (11 points).

What followed was a mix of 1 pointers, balls in water hazards, a few wipes and shoddy putting...the sort of stuff that plagued my Vic Champs excursion. 17/12 = 29 points.

Methinks a bit of practice after work this coming week will be in order, especially on the greens.

One would think so, but then how do you explain 39pts at Sunshine GC first time out?

-4 in Par today. Halved the front nine and fell apart on the back.

GIR on the 18th with a 2 footer left after a 20m putt. Got the wobbles and pulled it left to about 2 inches, went to tap in with the back of the putter and jammed into the ground. Walk off with a wipe and that pretty much summed up the round.

Will preface this by saying I wasn't in the comp so it doesn't really count. However I was playing with the comp so to speak. Played the first of the rounds needed to finally get a handicap after joining Asquith so tagged along in todays comp to get someone to mark my card.

Shot 86 off the stick (par 70, can't remember the slope). Had 2 triples and an assortment of mostly pars and bogeys. Had my worst driving round ever. Hit zero fairways. Zero! Really glad I just bought another putter instead of something more useful like a driver (or lessons).... Scrambling was ok luckily.

Funnily enough if I was actually playing in the comp instead of just hanging around in it I would have nabbed a NTP. Stuck an 8 iron to inside a metre for my only birdie.

Looking forward to the next round and maybe finally hitting a fairway.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
