Made 3 birdies in a row, first time I reckon I've made 3 birdies ever in a round let alone in a row.

    Nice round Slug.

81/70 for me in the monthly medal today.

4 doubles, 4 bogeys, 2 birdies and 28 putts. Wish I could get rid of the doubles. Didn't hit a green with anything longer than a PW so my iron play was atrocious. Pretty happy overall with the score considering.

No fluro today, Hux wasn't there to enjoy it.

The rest of 2017 is yet to be announced but Bulimba and Sirromet are in the mix.

Only 29 points yesterday but another win (1up), in pennants today. Was two down for most of the match but managed to grind out the win. 😊

Shocking day yesterday. Sliced my arm open on my scorecard holder before teeing off. Hit the first drive dead behind a tree, proceeded to triple the first.
Over the next 9 holes added another 3 doubles to the card.
Second shot on 11, felt funny on my downswing, looked down and half of the sole of my shoe had come off. Second shot on 12 went OOB so decided I'd had enough torture and just stuffed around for the rest of the day.

Today with new shoes, 86/75 with really bad driving.

    Couple of updates.

Sat 4/02 at Darwin GC. Last weekend in Darwin, tried to get a round in but made it 12 holes before 250mm decided to fall from then until midnight. Packed it in when upturned bowl greens were still managing to flood.

Wed 8/02 Maryborough GC. Played much better today for 38pts, really making some strides in the long game - a serious reduction of the occasional big right carve. Didn't hit a lot of fairways, but missed a fair fes by less than 2m or so. Irons worked really well. Knocked a couple of birds in as well to make the eclectic look better.

Thanks Grumpy, enjoyed the round. I managed to sneak in 40 points at Sunshine even with a fair amount of muppet like putting, and a double on the last. Liked the track, obviously

31 degrees, sunny with light easterly winds and not too humid today, just to make my NSW friends envious. They won't be envious of my short game and particularly my putting today.

33 points was an Ok score, as I took 5 to get down from a greenside bunker on the 3rd, and followed that with a number of missed short putts. My driving and general ball striking were pretty good, so some positives were taken from the round. I chipped in for birdie at the last, with guys watching from the clubhouse balcony, so that was good.

One of my playing partners told us he had a lesson from the pro the day before. As a result, he had a total of 2 points after 7 holes, and finished with 18. He was a hacker anyway, but whatever the lesson was about totally stuffed him up.

Matchplay quarters today. Was playing a guy off 23 so was giving up 13 shots , he did have a nett 89 last week so I was confident enough.
Started (what should have been) well to be 1 over thru 6 , old mate matched me off the stick so I was already 2 down and behind the 8 ball, ended up a 4 and 3 loss. Few bad decisions with the heat didn't help but I guess there isnt a lot you can do when a high marker plays out of their skin.
