I was kind of hoping that nobody else played and posted today, just so I could be leader for a very short time. But I don't even get that dubious pleasure.

I was no chance of a genuine leaderboard score after a horrible triple on the second, so I'm not too dissatisfied with my 34 points today.

I had a good patch where I thought I'd cracked the game, so that was encouraging, but it didn't last.

It was another very warm and breezy day though. Doing nothing is looking more and more like a better option than actually playing golf in the heat at the moment.

77/75 in Monthly Medal. Only highlight of this ****OX of a day, is I won't qualify in the top 32 for handicap match play for the Patrons Trophy.

As above, made a birdie at least and it was relatively dry which was nice.

    44 points today
24/20 but played the back 9 first
Best part of the day was breaking 80 for the first time, had 78 off the stick, 37/41.
Made 3 birdies in a row, first time I reckon I've made 3 birdies ever in a round let alone in a row.

    Well done slug.

Played in very heavy conditions at Gordonvale this morning. It was meant to be our Monthly Medal but ended up being a Single Stableford due to the state of the course. Front nine was abysmal but managed to figure out what I was doing wrong and managed to play the back nine much better.

9 points front, 17 points back for the princely total of 26.

    Should have stayed in bed.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
