Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
Should be great viewing
It was except from an Aussie point of view. Noren is well and truly worthy of his ranking. The number of times he's fired a round like that to win on Sunday is amazing. Just needs to step up on the international stage (re in front of the pessimistic US audience).
Good to see the Belgian Bomber having a good result too.
I thought Sergio would have gone back for that, surprised he stayed in the US, seems like a top bloke Noren and can putt the lights out
WTF is wrong with fox sports!
They have the golf live, then put a reply af ****ing lawn bowls on then back to the golf live, seriously!!!
They quite often split the European Tour broadcast in 2. I don't think it's a fox thing I think the host broadcaster has 2 parts to their coverage. They broadcast the morning wave first then come back later for the afternoon wave in stead of going all the way through.
Well it's pretty shit idea!
Yep always morning and afternoon sessions, us old blokes can't hang for the late session 😫
No bowls break for the Open de France! 8 straight hours tonight. Same for the Irish Open next week...

Ryder Cup course for next year.
Be interested what you guys think, it looks immaculate but it's also a bit Gold Coast in places.
They have played there for a few years now. The main criticism is that it is a course that could be anywhere. It doesn't have any 'european' characteristics, whatever that means. It doesn't appear to be a strategic course, though.
If the course plays the way it is right now (reasonably soft, not much wind) it will be an excellent Ryder Cup venue. It's a course that yields birdies, but has lots of traps that can lead to disaster, which is what I want from a Ryder Cup course.
In the coverage right now I am very disappointed they are ignoring the opportunity to show one of the most interesting things in golf. Apparently Li Haotong snapped his putter, and has to putt with something else, but they haven't shown him. I always like seeing what guys do in those circumstances.
"There are 50 things to remember in the golf swing. Trouble is that I can only remember 49 of them" - Bob Hope.
See the fireman has a woman on the bag 😳😳😳
Find out it's his wife, good for him
Looks like it will be a good finish in France this week. Couple of guys playing well and Olesen shooting lights out so far. Looks like a good venue for the Ryder Cup.
Great to turn on the TV to the Irish Open and see that it is being played for the first time at Portstewart Golf Club in Northern Ireland... just up the road from the much more famous Royal Portrush.
I visited this area several years ago and planned to play Portrush. It was something like 200pound to play at the time and despite being told I should be able to turn up at first light and get a spot, when I rocked up in the morning I wasn't actually guaranteed a spot. I had researched and read that Portstewart up the road was nearly equally as impressive, especially the front nine, but lesser known. I rang and had the pick of times and green fees were only around 60pounds. Needless to say this is where I ended up playing and I had a ball! Loved the caves hidden in the side of hills that you could hide in during a common impromptu storm. Also loved that the rough whilst long was quite whispy so you generally found your ball and get to hit it again.
Up there as one of my favourite ever courses. I look forward to following along...
The commentators just said they rate it better than Portrush!
It looks nice.
