Brisbane only needs around 10mm more rain (i think) to have it's wettest December on record for 150 years.

Driving in it sounds like a really dumb idea. I've already heard bad reports about the Bruce Hwy today.

The pro shop still isn't answering the phone. I guess the course is closed, which isn't surprising.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of dumping water out of the pool

    It's official

Brisbane recorded its wettest December in more than 150 years with 471.8mm dumped until 5pm yesterday, beating the 470mm recorded in 1859.

338 mm is bloody handy for Toowoomba

The dams must be over half full by now ?

Cairns is doing ok with 360mm so far. Nowhere near the record of over 900mm, though.

Luckily I'm at the sunny coast (thats sarcasm I'd u didn't know) but have seen some fb photos of some of toowoombas inner city under water. Checked this morning and our dams are just under 45%. You're probably wondering how that can be (don't forget that we had been getting water pumped into our dam from wyvenhoe). In saying that it's probably about 6+ years of water. More annoying is watching the tanks overflow. I could leave all the rapids turned on and the tanks would still overflow. I hate it.

Goughy, I checked the Toowoomba website too and the 44% amount was from Christmas Eve, so it could be anything by now.

Got back from Hervey Bay today. Never seen water lying round up there like it has the last week.

They had 125mm at my step in-laws place yesterday up at Craignish. Good percentage of my FIL's place in Torquay filled up with water.

Pialba Torbanlea Road was cut this morning. Heard the list of roads that had been cut in the region and decided to head for home two days early, just in case the Mary really came up and blocked the highway for several days.

Water was pretty high along the side of Hervey Bay - Maryborough Road most of the way to Maryborough. Water was over the northbound lane of the road at Susan River but we got through OK. Found out about 90 minutes later they'd subsequently closed it, so Hervey Bay is now cut off till further notice!

Couple the HB Rd closure with the closure of the highway north of Curra (apparently due to an accident) just after we got through, and I'm satisfied with the decision to head for home.

Mary River was pretty full on at Maryborough. Lots of little creeks that normally barely hold water were well and truly out of their banks.

At Gympie the Mary River was still several metres below Bruce Highway level, but I'd suggest if you're going that way in the next few days, you ought to be careful.

    Take care everybody.
