Good luck Northerners. They aren't much fun, and the weeks/months following are even harder. I went through Cat 5 Ivan in Cayman in 2004 and it flattened the place.

As I understand it our one and only hospital has been evacuated. **** knows where anyone who gets injured is supposed to go.

Actually that's a question Courty may be able to answer.

It means they evacuate the patients and then leave staff to take care of emergencies.

Fair point. I'd assumed the entire hospital was being evacuated including staff. I'm a stoopid.

Mikes in hillbilly country. They normally weather the cyclones a bit better because the range takes the edge off.

I wouldn't be so sure in this case. My info says it is still expected to be a Cat 1 when it reaches the gulf.

The press conference said the hospital will remain open overnight and then an emergency department will open tomorrow morning at a sports complex in Edmonton.
