Got 40mm in Ballarat on New Years Day. Very needed. The equivalent of 12% of last year's total rainfall in just over 2 hours.
The folks' dam was just a puddle before it, and only about 1/4 full now. Here's hoping for more.

Same thing is happening here in Sydney, the cricket has stopped for rain but the sun is out here in the South Western Suburbs. I am about 2/3's the way to the catchment area and we are relatively dry here, only light showers all day. The garden is loving it though.

Did anybody have any dramas in that storm early this morning ?

I was driving to work at 2:15am and had to stop in the middle of the Bruce Highway around the Northlakes area as there was zero visibility Cars were just stopped in the middle of the highway as the storm hammered us, i've never seen rain that hard in my life ..... lighting was striking not too far away from my car either.

Was a great way to start the day

    Don't know what you're talking about. :-\"

Besides, where does it say that I have to have an opinion about any articles I link?

It doesn't, it's just a pet hate of mine. There's one guy on another forum that seems to only post links to articles all the time.
