    Don't know exactly.

Final group today is Peppas, Marcel, Benno and I.

    7 points covers the field.

RA has greened up with the rain during the week - be aware the surrounds have a little more grass than normal, so the fringe putting can be a bit trickier today. Also, the greens have greened up with the rain, and are a little leafier and not quite as firm as normal.

Hopefully, you all enjoy the day - I'm off to a birthday lunch. Marcel will be a good host.

Sorry Benje if the greens are softer than normal then they are unplayable for normal players like myself. The domed greens like 8, 10, 14, and especially 16, were impossible to hold. My group all chipped on and then watched the ball roll off 16.

The greens were a major disappointment but the rest of the RA experience was it's usual fabulous self.

Thanks to my playing partners Slug, Chilled and Nudgee. Particular apologies to Nudgee for making noise in his backswing at least once.

I have to agree, many were fairly hard. Thanks everyone for having a hit with us today, especially the interstaters, it's a big effort to come down and we really appreciate you supporting our event year after year.

Thanks also to my playing partners today, Nudgee Slug and Jimandr for putting up with my less than average golf today and finding my wayward balls.

Special thanks to the organisers as always, it's a lot of time and effort and it's greatly appreciated.

Benno, your usual digs of Kooyonga are noted and as usual unappreciated haha, might see you at QLD champs next year, with RQ it sounds very attractive, see how we go time wise.

Well done to the winner, peppas, very well played over the two days.

Some shots of the presentation, unfortunately I forgot to get a group shot : (

SA Ozgolf Champs has now been played and won and we have a brand new Champion.

Thank you all for attending, especially the interstate players for making the effort both physically and financially to take part: in fact this year you outnumbered the locals 8-5!

Special thanks go out to Waza for once again finding the time to make trophies during what I know is a very busy/hectic time of year for him with 'paying' jobs - cheers mate.

Also cheers to Marcel, Waza and Chilled for their efforts securing tee times on various courses, (along with a couple of RAGC members who joined in to get us the required guest spots), and Hatchy for being chief scorer - and still you didn't win!? .

Apologies for the SA weather that once again tried to disrupt things, (particularly on Friday), and I have heard a bit of feedback re Mt Osmond GC but as explained previously we kinda ran out of options there due to the first two choices deciding to do 'course work/coring.

I do hope everyone enjoyed themselves, it was good to meet a couple of new attendees and everyone that took part please feel free to send through any thoughts on the weekend via this posting or via PM.

So finally, I give you our Champion for 2017 - PEPPAS.

Congratulations, Peppas. It was only a matter of time. Did you finally take BennoR's advice and hit nothing but that deadly 5 iron all day long?

Commiserations, Al. Feeling a bit bloated from too many Kitcheners? Or was it Pie Floaters?

Nah, it was driver today. Need a 300m draw around the trees to take on a par 5 in 2. Check.

Peps hitting it 300.... Was it the UK or Russia he went to this year? I always thought he wore the sleeves to keep the whiteness can see now it was all just to cover the needle marks. Oh well another name for the list - Armstrong, Johnson , Chinese female swim team, Warnie and now Peppas

10 is a green full of misery, especially with that back pin.
Thanks for the feedback - as a regular player I am never sure how a visitor sees the challenge.

8 requires a precise shot, and a lot of the challenge at RA is knowing when you can attack and when you need to be defensive.

I find 12 is normally a challenge. On Saturday on 13 I went left of the pin, and discovered another lot of misery.

I was constantly chipping onto the green and found majority wasn't checking but could just run them up to the flag.
Biggest issue I found is that some greens were quick and others quite slow. Could not get a read on speed all day.

Maybe some have come back from renovations quicker than others.

Thanks to all for attending and a big kudos to all RA hosting members who (without them) would not provide us such a feasible opportunity to play a magnificent course such as RA

RA was superb yesterday and showed its real teeth once the wind got up - not as brutal as last year mind you.

All in all I thought the greens were true and I assure you they can play faster than yesterday. If rock hard fast greens aren't your forte steer well clear of the sandbelt.

MO was visually scenic and quirky; yes it's a wacky layout and the fringes in particular did not play well at all with the clunky roots of kikuyu hanging out, but there are worse courses we could have played @.

As for the scoring well, dismal to say the least (lead by a concrete leg out of form yours truly...until oldracer stole the limelight ), but that should be the last thing to worry about when you play at such a good course.

    See you all next year!

    TC
