    Fact.
Washed out Test days since 1877:
    Perth 0
    Hobart 2
    Adelaide 2
MCG 6 (not including 1971 washout => ODI)
    Brisbane 8
    Sydney 24
The city has a nice bridge and a pretty opera house though.

How did you choose 1877 as the starting point? Were there no matches washed out between 1844 and then?

I have asked the statistician that I quoted, but I see that the first test at the SCG was in the 1880's.

1877 is the date of the first official test.

Who cares about 1877? Neither me nor Daves were allowed to go to the cricket unaccompanied back then, so we don't count it. Besides, that was before global warming kicked in.

This test has turned out to be much more interesting than I thought it would be, and the last day should be worth watching. Yasir Shah got destroyed by his captain today, though. i wonder if Misbah thought he was feigning injury and decided to punish him.

One of the things about Warner that the stats doesn't show is how his very quick scoring has made results possible in tests like this one where time has been lost. I suspect history will be very kind to him after he has retired, and the press will go on and on about how much he is missed. I know that it is much better to have him on our side than to be playing against him.

Another fine showing from Handscomb too, 40 n.o. off 25 balls when fast runs were the order of the day. Excellent versatility.

Handscomb has been robbed, with his average stranded one run short of 100 at 99.75.

Selfish player who clearly plays for the not outs to pad out his average. He'll probably score one more run, pull a hammy and refuse to ever take the field again.

Or maybe he'll demand to keep, or to open the bowling. Test cricket seems too easy for him at the moment.

Great start by Australia today. Lyon is bowling very well.

Going to a T20 is so good. In the lead up, so far I have been treated to video clips of "Who Let the Dogs Out" and "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen".
