No Mitch Marsh, no Scorchers.
No Mitch Marsh, no Scorchers.
He mentioned the over rate problem early in the game. I'm pretty sure he said he's already been fined.
How much are you going to fine him for it to matter?
The only way it changes is to make it hurt. 5 hour rounds of golf happen because no action is taken after 4.5 hour rounds.

He knows the rules and what's required.
Don't waste time, no fine, no suspension.
Simple really.
I blame Klinger for using his helmet instead of his bat.
For a game that is meant to be quick, there sure is a lot of stuffing around.
That's what T20 is all about. Good fun
This was quite an interesting game.
I'm not sure whether the careers of Wade and Maxwell were in jeopardy, but if they were on thin ice, they just saved themselves. This was the precise scenario you pick Wade for, and he delivered brilliantly.
We didn't see much of Stenlake, but an attack of Starc, Cummins and Stenlake is worth looking forward to.
I was also quite impressed by the bowling of Travis Head. He was much tighter than I've seen him before, and in an extended spell, too. Test matches in India are very different to a Brisbane one-dayer, but if you could get that type of bowling from him all the time, I'd pick him as the spinning allrounder.

We know that Maxwell thinks allrounders should bat above the keeper, but do you think he would be happy to make an exception for Mitch Marsh?
Great test squad BTW...
Isn't Maxwell a specialist batsman? He doesn't get a bowl in 50 over cricket nowadays.
I think it is a strange squad for India, full of contingency plans if Plan A doesn't work. I only see Agar playing if O'Keefe is ineffective, and Maxwell playing if M Marsh is ineffective (again) and Swepson playing only if two of the other three spinners fail. Maybe there will be a reintroduction of the bowling rotation policy.
In a way, I hope Agar, Swepson and Jackson Bird don't bowl at all, because that will mean the other bowlers have been successful. But if they get games, Starc and Hazelwood and maybe Lyon will be very tired guys by the end of the tour.

I'm almost convinced Smith hates spinners
