Why? He hasn't done anything to deserve selection.

To be fair, neither had Maddinson, or Cartwright for that matter. Bring back Mitch!

I hope the pitch is the almost traditional Melbourne drop-in road, and Warner, Khawaja and Smith all make first innings tons. Maybe Cartwright is being picked to open the bowling in the Paki second innings after the follow-on is enforced for the first time in years.

He's certainly put his name forward. Hopefully he continues his recent improvements and conversion rates.

Qualifying period was Sept 2015 to Sept 2016 which explains why Voges and Cook might make it but Kohli and Smith don't...

Another catch by Maddinson should see him keep his spot for Sydney.

    Well, how about that.

I'm sure there will be story in the media tonight about the variation in bookies odds throughout the last day, and a doubtful story of someone who took the million to 1 (Capt Nemo maybe?).

Lyon has probably saved his spot. Surely Maddinson hasn't. Shaun Marsh is fit (unless he gets injured again).

Great win in a match which really should have been a draw by rights with the amount of play lost.

Maddinson and Sayers are both out of the squad for Sydney. O'Keefe and Agar are gonna duke it out for Maddinson's spot. So it looks like they're keen to play two spinners cos surely they ain't gonna drop Lyon after that effort.

Kevin Pietersen had a shot at Mark Waugh on tonight's BBL, told him he should have resigned as a selector after the disaster ODI series in Sth Africa.

Ouch and Waugh was not happy ... KP is stil chirping at him about being a selector.

Loved the commentary from KP, he really does call it as it is.

Another awesome hitting display from Lynn and McCullum again..... that six off Taits first over looked ridiculously big 😮

It was massive. I was on the opposite of the ground and thought that he must have skied it, since it had so much height. It just kept on going though.

A mate went last night and sat right underneath where it went onto the roof.

He reckons the crowd went ballistic !!

Lucky enough to be behind it... Awesome!!

They found it in the practice nets, supposedly 4 meters longer than Dan's effort last season.

Really hasn't been a good year for christians.

While I could look this up on the net, I'd prefer to ask the learned members of the Ozgolf cricket community.

I've just watched someone named Billy Stanlake bowl an over in the Big Bash at 147+. I've never heard of him.

Who is he? Normally anybody bowling at that speed is automatically hyped into the test team by one of the News Limited hacks. Is he any good for more than 4 overs at a time?

Can't find much but he's 22 from Qld and according to the Ch10 guys is 7ft tall.

Has played in Australia Under 19 and Qld Under 19.

He's only played 2 first class games I think but played for us in a game or two of the BBL last year. Looked good yesterday tho - he will play the rest of the games this season now with Richo out so will be interesting to see how he goes

He's got an interesting action but the bounce he was getting last night was eye popping.

The sight of Brad Hodge standing next to him was funny, Hodge is 5' 10" but looked 4' tall.

Sensational allround finish to the game by Starc, Smith continues to amaze and Lyon got a few key wickets. Wade might be starting to put himself under a bit of pressure tho he was brought in for more than just keeping and batting.
