    Default The Lowest Point

I was trying to find a suitable thread, but this will do. Its not about the bushrangers, the hand brakers and those gently sailing out towards their anchors.

This is about your PB low mark - and a chance to brag.

So amazingly, I'll start . After 11 years at Gungahlin Lakes, starting at 18, generally hanging around 10 to 12, I have got myself down to 5.3 after 5 rounds in the 70's in my last 20.

Two flags drop off the next two, so I don't think I will stay here long, but 4.9 is the summers goal.

Post your lifetime low mark as you hit it here. Good luck!

6.9 about 5 years ago. (I think it would be a GA of 5.9 in today's currency.)

Family, work and the OzGolf pro-shop ensured that it didn't remain low.

I got to 4.9 in March this year. Prior to that, if the current handicap system was retrospective I would have got to 4.0 back in 2006.

Under the old system, got to 4.5 just before I got married 33 years ago.
Under the new system I got to 3.3 in Feb 15, currently 3.5 with the next flag not dropping for another 7 rounds so a good chance to go lower.
Would love to get to scratch but at age 59 it may be beyond me!
Other than that the next goal is to shoot my age, realistically still around 10 years away.

I'm about the same as WB, hanging around off 8-10 for years, just hit 5.1 the other week, really no idea why.

My lowest mark since circa 1980 (was off 4) when the usual combination of chicks, piss, uni, work and travel derailed me.

I was 2.0 just last week but have just slipped to 2.3 after a not so flattering couple of weeks. Putting has really let me down, so if I can get a few more to drop i'll be hopefully under the 2 barrier by christmas. Was hoping to get to scratch by years end, still achievable.

I got down to 9.2 a couple of months ago, basically by playing with whatever I had that day rather than tinkering with my crappy swing (I shot 9 over one day aiming 30 degrees right and pulling every tee shot down the fairway).
I just wanted to get to single figures, realised it didn't make me feel special in any way and now I'm back to drinking beers, tinkering and blowing out 😉

Makes me sad to think that PJ could have contributed to this thread and likely trumped everyone.

Think 6.0 was my best, but that seems a distant memory now, 3 or 4 years ago. Anything in single figures is a good effort for me these days.

7.4 was my best under an old system back in 1983 , work non golfing partners and the snap hooks stopped that going lower . Started back four years and half years ago on 19 after hearing a tip on radio on how to fix a snap hook , made it down to 10 fairly quickly , couldn't get it lower till December when I got it to 7.9 have stayed around that mark since on 8.8 at moment , goal is 5 , will have to fix my putting to get there , am 59 also so time is running out think scratch is gone but that won't stop me from trying

You single figure people make me sick. 13.1 is the best I've managed, back in 2015. I'm now a couple north of that and heading the wrong way. I've never played enough or practiced enough to know if I have a single figure golfer lurking inside, waiting to get out, but I like to think that I could give it a shake if I put in some effort. Maybe one day.

People can't read. Benno doesn't care about your previous low; get motivated and get to a new low, so you can post in this thread.

Got down to a 4.8 recently. Played off 5 at my local for 3 or 4 rounds.

Bad weather, bad health, new baby and general lack of practice have seen that head out again. Playing off 7 and enjoying things once more

Would LOVE to get to 3.5 by end of summer.....but to be honest, I never thought I would ever play off single figures...to be their for well over a year....yeh I am pretty happy with that
