Ball Markers - I have multiple issues

I really don't understand why people that play comp use poker chips as ball markers. They are almost bigger than leaving their actual ball on the green. (Yes I understand there is a penalty for hitting another players ball and not someones marker)

Then I dont get people just using their tee as a marker.

I am constantly asking people to move their marker due to if my ball hit theirs it would deflect my ball.

I now ask people to either swap out their ball maker or just keep asking them to move their ball another putter head away. I asked a guy to move his 4 putter heads last weekend.

I get the feeling perhaps your over-obsessing this point (ie: 4 putter heads, id be thinking: far out, what a pain in the arse playing partner), but I do agree that the ball markers are getting way too big.

I now use a small in-ground ball marker that attaches to my fancy swiss army golf device (over the top, agree, but I love it), took a while to get used to but its great now as it does not impact the roll if one of my playing partners makes contact with it.

I carry 3 flat markers, but often mark my ball with a tee, if past the hole, offline and already have the tee in my hand from pitch mark repairs.

Poker chip users are those that think Happy Gilmore is an instructional video.

Agree with this mindset, putter should go ASAP once ready (regardless of distance) and really putt out 9 times out of 10, as it really speeds up the round. In the odd occasion where a playing partner mentions that my ball is too in the way I often will suggest I putt first as normally im going to miss it 6 times out of 10 so it doesn't really matter

I don't bother marking my ball. If you're so shit that you're outside me, you go around me. EAD.

Yeah. 4 putter heads are over the top. If they have one of the Brian Harmon things it could be in the bunker!!

If you are so concerned about a lack of control in your putting that you need to move a marker by 4 putter head lengths you’re probably a spastic

I use poker cards to mark my ball. If it’s windy you often end up with a shorter putt.

I generally use a coin for a ball marker - which coin depends on what is in the wallet. Have tried the flat markers but find I simply lose them to often so moved to coins, and being cheap as I am I do not forget to collect it.

Have never really had issues with markers impacting my line, as on the rare occasions I just let the other person putt first and if they do not want to do so, all good as thsy simply mark it and move it if needed. If I do not ask them to move it and I hit it - that is all on my bad putt.

But, I will also always try to putt out after my initial attempt rather than mark again and wait as I have played a few to many times lately where the risk of losing sheep stations for some has made the game very slow.

If you need to ask someone to move a marker 4 putter heads, a deflection from the marker is the least of your worries.

It does carry some plasticy relics of money as well as thos credit card things and licences. Many years ago it used to carry rubber stuff but with age, comes less reason.
