    5.9 baby!

When I started my lessons 2yrs ago, the goal was sub-6. Took a bit longer than expected, but got there in the end.

    Ok. I’ll confess.

    Had never been below 0.4.

Had a putting lesson with AD23 a little before Christmas, was playing of 2.3 or so at the time.

Fast forward a few months and I made it all the way to +2.3.

Crazy how it all just clicked.

AD23, is one of 2 level 3 Sam Putt Lab instructors in Aus. He’s got some other impressive credentials as well.

I approached him originally to get loft added to my putter as I’d self diagnosed myself.

After a chat, I decided to go all in.

The loft issue was negated by proper technique.

I have about 3 or 4 mates that have already seen him , based on the changes in my game and a few more that are going to see him.

I was a pretty good putter before, but now I fully understand my stroke and where I was going wrong.

COVID lock down in Victoria wasn't anyone's favourite time, we all missed a lot golf.

The only benefit I have experienced was a reduction in kids weekend sport, which is actually relative to this thread, as I am approaching my Lowest point. Another .5 of a shot should it, currently 7.9.

This is largely due to the fact that I have been able to consistently have a game each week, for about 5 months, which is something I have not been able to do for about 15 years. Getting into a good rhythm has been quite amazing for my game, and have now had 7 flagged games in the last 10 rounds, including 2 - 40 point, a 38 and 37 point rounds.

I'm not expecting to go low, like some of the good golfers on the forum, as I never practice, just a game week. But my game is holding well at the moment.

New low for me of 3.2.

I've got a couple of played-to 0.0 rounds coming off soon, will be interesting to see if I can put some good rounds up to replace them.

Congrats mate. Do you think playing in pennant comps has helped your game?

I think playing with better golfers always helps, things rub off on you and you push yourself to keep up (in a good way - more in terms of shot quality than distance). And the pressure of matchplay is another step up IMO, which helps with the mental side.

Snuck in another drop of 0.1 yesterday to get to a new low of 5.8.

Pretty scrappy 34pts, wasn't expecting it to be a flag, but there you go.

    Well done.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Got out in the rain at Maryborough today, and managed to eek out a 36 off a daily of 5.

For once, dsr was +1, so a cheeky played to 4.7 sees another new low of 5.4.

Hopefully better than last time we played.

Still a bit loose off the tee, but 8 up and down pars againts the 6 gir is steady enough.
