It has made a huge difference at our joint. Rough is incredibly thick as they haven't been able to get mowers in.
That, and you are getting 0 run compared to our normally fast fairways, and a brutal, windy spring, have combined to more players blowing out than coming in.
Scoring conditions have now been good for 2 weeks straight and we are now seeing scores improve across the board.

If course is playing long due to no run, all tees should be forward so that course rating remains same. Opposite if its dry and loads of run, this is SOP under the handicapping system. Though i concur that many clubs would be ignorant of this procedure. As for longer rough, i would think that daily course rating adjustment whatevers its called now, deals with these anomalies. Also wet courses play easier for choppers too, less run into trouble and softer greens

You can only move tees back or forward 100m from the permanent markers, would 5m per hole make much difference? If you moved the par 3s and 5s back would give a bit more flexibility.

I dont know more specifics, but the fine detail is in the full habdicapping guidelines which every club will have access to. If they dont follow the guidelines for varying course conditions, then they are stuffing up their members handicaps. Its possible the full document is for public download, i havent looked at it since pre world handicap system.

I can't speak for the other spuds, but my case is predominantly health related. Back is in need of another epidural, my old achilles injury has reared its ugly head again, and I've also got tendinitis in my arm.
The achilles doesn't affect my swing as such, but the other two definitely do.
Next stop, glue factory!

My course lengthened two holes with new tee or green, and it didn't change they still haven't changed the rating, although it is probably under 100m in total.

I’m going to reach the 12months mark. 3rd Jan is my 20th. Considering 4 of those rounds were in 4 days during CoC I think I have broken the habit.
