I'm on Android and this was happening for me in the previous version, and then only for one or two handicaps. When I installed your most recent update the double-up issue was resolved.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

I reckon it happened after the last update and it’s not all of them for me. Only 2/5 are doubled.

Is that because you both need double the handicap?
    The app is very intuitive!

Still cant seem to determine the root cause when scores are updating, but putting some code in place to at least prevent displaying duplicates on the player screen though.

Not sure if I’ve commented in this thread before - and if I have it hasn’t been for ages. But just want to say thanks heaps for the AWESOME app BGH. Myself and eight of my golf mates use your app to keep track of how absolutely average we are at this great game. Loving the new features in the recent update. Great work mate.

FYI guys the new Android version with the big fixes (no duplicates) should be live now. Let me know if you are still having any issues.

iOS version is still awaiting review by Apple. This is just for the test version, it will have to go through review again before it can go live, so it might take a while unfortunately.

Test build for iOS finally got approved. Should be able to pick it up in test flight now. Hopefully the duplicates bug is sorted.

    Quick question guys

One of the most requested features is an ability to export/import players from the app. I've been trying to pull this off with exporting selected players via CSV file, but importing from a file on iOS is causing me some technical difficulties.

One way to get around having to work with physical files is to simply export a list of players to the cloud and then import again from the cloud. The way I see it working is

    1. Select the players you want to export
    2. Player name/ID gets uploaded to a cloud datastore and a random key (say 5 characters) gets generated to identify that batch of players that you can then share with mates etc.
    3. You import that batch of players on a different device by simply entering the 5 letter code and it downloads them from cloud storage

Technically this is actually a lot easier than having to deal with throwing around CSV files and wrangling with the file systems of various versions of Android and iOS.

The issue is that now some of your data is being stored in the cloud, even if it is just golflink IDs/player names. I have always set out to have all Handy Cap data stored locally and not require logins or offline storage etc.

So my question is, would exporting players to a cloud store put you off using that feature? Think I should just try and keep battling with throwing around CSV files to implement this feature?

Default Handy Cap - Check your handicap history on Android... and now iOS!

I have a question that is not related to the cloud issue above. Could there be an option to see more data than the last 20 rounds and to see anchor?

I don't have any issues with it myself, but I can't see it being a feature I would personally use.

Same for me, not something I would use. I would also think people might be getting a little greedy from a free app to want it to do such things!

Same for me. I have no need to import/export any of the data to a CSV file.
Why do people need or want to import/export it? Surely if you get your mate to download the app he can take the time to type a few Golflink numbers into it.
