What a Total FU.

I register, and then try to login. Tells me my user name or password are invalid. I persist without result, so try forgot password, only to find they are supposed to send a validation email apparently, which I still haven't got??

Try another password with one of each character. You won’t get the email until it’s correct but it makes you think it was correct.

After reading this, I tried to change my password. It asks for the old password and then proceeds to tell me the old password is wrong. I then log out and log in again using the old password and it works. F###tards.

Hey gang

I have re-written Handy Cap from scratch in a cross platform technology and would appreciate some user testing before I send it out into the wild. I'm a bit time poor these days so hopefully only having to maintain one codebase will allow me to update the app a bit more often moving forward. My apologies for the iOS version looking so "Androidy", I will try and adjust that in the future.

It's a little rough around the edges at the moment but I will be cleaning it up as I go. Any feedback/reviews/bugs/feature-requests would be good. If you completely hate it and think I should just stick to the current versions just let me know.

FYI, the player migration from the old version to the new version hasn't been thoroughly tested (that's where you guys come in) so there is a risk that you might have to add your list of players again. Might be worth taking a screenshot of your current list before proceeding just in case.

Anyways, let me know what you think.

Yep, this update is still showing my handicap below Courty's on iOS. You continue to save me from having to log into golflink.

I have just noticed the daily handicap calculator too. Assuming it was there before, this would have saved me using the calculator during the Qld OZgolf Champs.

Nah that is a new feature. In the future I'm hoping to be able to search by course/tee so you don't actually have to know the slope.

A couple of things.

Only showing full handicap number rounded up. With slope this should show the x.x value

Had some issues displaying the handicap list. Cant move players up or down either, can only run off the chosen orders.

Couldnt delete an expired handicap either.

WBennett - to delete an entry, swipe left on it to bring up the edit screen.

Order is now only displayed by Sort by Name, sort by handicap, or Sort by last round date. Can access these sorts by tapping the button next to the plus sign at the top right of screen.

Unless I’m misinterpreting what you’re saying, the whole number displayed is because you have the ‘Display playing handicap for course’ turned on. Your daily handicap is always a whole number.
If you turn it off you’re actual GA handicap will be displayed.

Yeah currently working on sorting this. Annoyingly it is harder than it should be in the new language I am writing.

Liking the new look BGH.

I noticed though that I can only select rounds prior to 1 September to view the additional details (eg: comp results, comp winner, etc). It seems all rounds post 1 Sep don't have the little drop down arrow indicating the extra details are available. Possibly this is something to do with the log in changes on Golflink now??

Edit: Closing the app and going back in seemed to have resolved that issue and i can see those details post 1 Sep now.

Otherwise looking good and all my old saved Golflink numbers ported over with no issue.

Ah yep

But last version you could get rid of it all together and just have the table of scores. Good to see larger chunks of the info like flags etc. Less scrolling

Another thing i've found (this might not be an issue with the app though). My last round I won the comp on a countback and it has my result as 1st but doesn't have me as the comp winner. It has a different person there which is one of the other guys that had the same score. Perhaps that is more to do with how Golflink stores those results and isn't something that can be fixed. Thought it worth mentioning though.

Along the same lines a mate of mine I have on there shows his comp result as 1st. Shows his name as comp winner. But doesn't have the star on that round on the main page.

Liking how winning rounds are identified with a star now and showing the last score on the main page is an awesome feature!
