FG you talk tough, we'll see.....

Make sure you guys get there early, we should be able to tee off before 12.59.

FG all your weight loss may have taken the wind out of your sales.

Not much tomorrow hopefully. Got an IBM day at Woodlands.

Will FG choke as hard as she did in round 1? 3 up with 4 to play and failed to press home her advantage. Still had a chance to win on 18 while Chappy futzed around and missed that too. Chappy was in front after 1 and then spent the rest of the day playing catchup. Could have stolen it on the 18th but failed to and ended up sinking a clutch(ish) putt for the half.

Either would have to improve when then take on Toolish based on his 13B form. The bastard shot 3 over (playing off 9) and must rank as one of the egregious acts of banditry in the history of the game.

Will Chappy's new found mental freedom get him over the line? He has completed his Masters and new-born-bub projects.
Will Flowergirl's weight loss give her the pace over the last few holes to hang on for a win?
Will Bruce not embarrass himself as the crappest golfer in the crew and not be intimidated by reading golf link.

Unless you are hiding a lot of rounds outside of comps that looks like it was your best day in the last year by a long way.

And you save it up for your match against me. Bandit.

The flower had her petals crushed and trampled on the 18th green. Close game - and a lot of fun. It was neck and neck all day.

Thanks Chappy for hosting. Southern is such a great course.

I'll let Bruce do his report like only Bruce can. I'm just too devasted

Under grey skies another roller coaster round of golf for all involved. I don't have any cards in front of me so I'm relying on my memory here. Events are told as they should be - but not necessarily as they were.

The opening holes saw Flowergirl and Chappy trading jabs with neither able to string much together until Reenie put on a little surge to be 2 up after 8. Chappy pulled one back on the 18th (our 9th) to turn 1 down.

Another surge saw Reenie get to 3 up by the 12th which wasn't pegged back until the 14th. Another push - this time from Chappy saw them stand, once again, on 18 all square. Light was fading, I could barely see how my 4I into the green landed. I was starting to think about how we might try and manage extra holes - the 10th was probably going to be my suggestion as it heads towards the carpark.

Reenie had a shot up her sleeve but a solid 2nd shot from Chappy put the pressure on. Reenie's 3rd skittered across the green and Chappy pounced with an excellent chip that stopped a tap-in away from a solid par.
Sadly FG's 4th shot left a lot of work to do and she finished with a wipe.

    Chappy wins 1 up.

Both of last year's finalists eliminated in the first round!

    Other results from the day.
    Bruce - 37pts (with 3 wipes)
    Chappy1970 - 33pts
    Flowergirl - 28pts

    Default Match

A thoroughly enjoyable round under threatening skies.

FG a most worthy opponent, I feel this will not be our last meeting. Except for 1 or 2 dodgey chip shots FG had me well and truely beaten.

In the words of Geoff Ogilvy, I think that I was the recipient of a little charity.

And once again Bruce's love affair with the Southern greens continues, I think at one stage FG and myself had to turn away.

Once again thanks for a great day

    Toolish,
We will organise the match, and hopefully incorporate a large contingent of Vic Ozgolfers for a big day.
